Turkish As a Foreign Language
General Description
Teaching Turkish as Foreign Language Master Program has being carried out at Education Sciences Institute within Turkish Education Science since 2016.
This program offers master’s degree when 120 ECTS credits are completed successfully and programme sufficiencies are provided.

Specific Admission Requirements
Students are accepted to Teaching Turkish as Foreign Language Master Program according to the conditions in 1., 2., 3., 4., 5. and 6. clauses of 14. theme and 1., 2., 3., 4., 5. clauses of a, b, c, ç, d, 12. theme of 9/1 theme of “Uludağ University Postgraduate Education Regulations” published on 25th June 2014 date and 29041 number official newspaper. In order to apply master program candidates have to have graduated from Turkish Education(Teaching), School Teaching, Foreign Languages Education, Philology, Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting programs. Stıdents are accepted to master’s program with postgraduate entrance exam carried out according to Uludağ University Postgraduate Education and Exam Regulations. The education and thesis language of the program is Turkish.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Master bachelor’s degree is handed in to students having taken at least 28 credits course (120 ECTS) from this program or courses in other departments’ available programs related to this field and having completed all courses succesfully, having at least 70 grade point average on the scale of 100 and having presented thesis related to his/her topic field in front of chosen jury.

The aim of Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language Master’s Program is to train specialist person having information, skills, behaviour and experince for doing educational, instructional and advanced researches in this field, thinking critically, self-confident and having qualifications to pursue innovations related to his/her field nationally and internationally.

He/ she is informed current approaches about teaching foreign language, national and international scientific developments, current technology via current literature and can practise these in teaching Turkish as foreign language processes.

Upon successful completion of post graduate degree candidate can continue to his/her education in postgraduate program in Educational Science Institutions or postgraduate programme connected to this field if s/he has prevenient conditions.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Master
For a student to enroll to lessons at the beginning of semester and to enter final exams he must have joined 70 percent of lessons. Students have at least one final exam. All exams are assessed according to 100 score. A student must get at least 70 score from final exam. Students that get AA; BA; CB; and CC letter scores from any lesson are accepted to be successful at that lesson.
Doctorate

Graduation Requirements
To complete program successfully all courses available on the program must be completed (120 ECTS) the minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0 and master’s thesis must be approved by being defended.

Turkish Education Department, carry on its education and teaching activities with a total of 15 scholar, 3 professors, 7 assoc. prof, 1 assistant professor and 4 RA. Additionally, department’s teaching personnel contribute to the education of other departments by entering lessons which is within their academic field. Teaching personnel, in addition to their lecturing, conduct primarily post graduate studies and other activities such as research and projects.
