Management Information Systems Department, started to accept with 45 students in 2015-2016 academic year in Inegol Faculty of Business

When the program is successfully completed and program qualifications are provided, the degree of Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems Science is achieved.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school and a balanced school diploma and have enough points from the University Student Selection Exam.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

In order to obtain a graduate degree in the field of Management Information Systems, students must successfully complete the required compulsory and elective courses (total of 240 ECTS) required to be taken in the program and have a minimum GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.

Profile of The Programme
The Department of Management Information Systems aims to train administrators to build up, develop and maintain information systems in the public and private sectors.
It consists of departmental courses that combine these two fields together with information and management courses.
With the courses supported by laboratories and projects, the ability of students to apply with theory is also being developed.

Key Learning Outcomes & Classified & Comparative
1. The students know business management, management function and strategies as well as the basic business intelligence practices that will provide competition advantage.
2. The students recognize computer hardware; identify the technical specifications of the parts of the computer and know the design, installation and management of computer networks.
3. The students develop and manage necessary database systems for obtaining, storing, re-accessing and safeguarding information (using computer and other information technologies)
4. The students know types of software, software selection and purchasing decision; plan and manage software development processes.
5. The students analyze business processes, problems and opportunities; develop and manage information systems and internet practices for fast, secure and productive management of all functions of the business.
6. The students use fundamental program structures and system development techniques for manage business operating problems
7. The students do the necessary analysis, project, planning, organization, implementation and auditing activities for designing and developing information systems and manage these activities.
8. The students know where and how to follow the current developments in information and communication technologies.
9. The students develop the ability to express themselves in both written and oral communication; know a foreign language to communicate with their associates.
10. The students know the impacts of information technology practices and use their knowledge with an innovative and entrepreneurial understanding.
11. The students know computer and communication law; use their professional knowledge in line with information technology law and ethics without forming ground for IT crimes.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates will be able to work in fields such as e-commerce, decision making systems, software analysis, software development, database management, virtualization and network management in public and even modern business life.

Access to Further Studies
The candidates who have undergraduate degree can study in graduate programs in the field of business science provided that they got enough score from ALES and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
To register to classes and to have the final exam, each student must be continued for at least 80% of applications and 70% of courses. Students have at least one intermediate and one final exam for each course. The contribution of intermediate exam is 50% and final exam is 50% to success grade in each semester (the points from homework, laboratory exams, quizzes etc. can be evaluated for intermediate exam scores). All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Final exam are required to obtain at least 40 points. A student has received a letter grade AA, BA, BB, CB and CC is considered successful from that course. DC and DD letter grades are correspond to the conditional success. The student must have at least 2.00 CGPA to be considered successful in a course that he received DC or DD letter grade.

Facilities
In the Department of Management Information Systems, which currently has 3 faculty members and 3 research assistant staff, students will be able to follow the application closely through the theoretical information they have received, as well as the speakers who are invited to the faculty through symposiums, congresses and panellas to be organized on various topics.
