19 Objective of the Course: The aim of the course is to identify the basic foreign policy principles of the states in Central Asia and Caucasia. It will be examined some issue areas such as Karabagh, Abhazya, South Osetya and Fergana Valley in Russian foreign policy from the last days of the Soviet Union to the present with multidimensional and multilateral perspective.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to identify the general structure of the Central Asia and Caucasia with its various dimensions including geopolitical, geoeconomical and geostrategical underpinnings;
2 To be able to analyze the regional problems with regard to a historical perspective and contemporary developments;
3 To be able to make comparisons between different power groupings in Central Asia and Caucasia on the basis of their historical backgrounds, objectives and actions;
4 To be able to evaluate the sub-regional dynamics of Central Asia and Caucasia and analyze their problems, priorities, advantages and their relations in general;
5 To be able to attain a level of analysis to discuss the significance and mission of Turkey and also the major problems in the region;
