Turkish Language and Literature
General Description
Institute for Social Sciences, due to carry out Masters of Arts and Doctorate education, is founded in 1982 as of depend on Uludag University Rektorship.
In Institute, Institute board, which is formed manager, deputy managers and heads of the department of Institute, and Institute board of management which is formed manager, deputy managers and 3 academic members have been serving.
Department of Turkish Language and Literature firstly accepted students in Masters of Arts level in 1985.
When our biennial department program is successfully completed, with total 120 ECTS, the student has Masters of Arts degree in the area of Turkish Language and Literature Science. Masters of Arts Program depends on second stage degree system.

Specific Admission Requirements
For Masters of Arts education, graduates get their degree in Turkish Language and Literature, to qualify for ALES score is 55. It is done score rating among applicants. As quota, it is accepted students starting from the applicant taking the highest score.
For foreign students;
It is required document of ALES and in area of international current documents like GRE, GMAT etc, also there is not score condition. It is required that students have got TÖMER document as to know Turkish.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To complete Masters of Arts Program (MA) the student have to be successful at least 120 ECTS from available courses. Additionally the student has to have at least 70 on the basis of 100. Finally the student has to prepare a thesis in an area which is relevant to own subject. The thesis has to be defended across the selected jury.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates can work as a teacher in elementary and high schools appertaining to Ministry of Education. Also, they work as a university lecturer in their academic career or Turkish language instructors in universities. Apart from that, they can work in Ministry of Culture, TRT (Turkish Government´s Broadcasting Channel ) , press and information offices ,publishing houses, various ministries, education and cultural institıtions abroad, and archives.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates get their degree in Turkish Language and Literature master and doctorate degree, to qualify for ALES scores.
License graduation + application + interview = Succeed students can receive education.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In Masters of Arts Program, each student has to enroll in the school and since he sits for a final examination, he has to attend at least % 70 of the courses. There is one final exam. Examination is evaluated on the basis of 100. Students general grade point average has to be least 70 for to be successful from Masters of Arts Program. Students, who get one of AAi BAQ, BB, CB or CC letter marks , are to be succeeding at the available courses.
