Turkish Language and Literature
General Description
TThe Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Bursa Uludag University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, which began teaching in the 1990-1991 academic year, produced its first graduates in 1994. The department employs 8 professors, 2 associate professors, 5 assistant professors, 2 research assistant doctor, 1 lecturer, and 1 research assistants.
Our department depends upon with total 120 ECTS, in science of Turkish Language and Literature in higher education. When program is successfully completed, the student has the undergraduate degree in the area of Turkish Language and Literature Science.

Specific Admission Requirements
For Master´s degree education, candidates must have a bachelor´s degree and have received a sufficient score from the exam conducted by the Institute.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain a master´s degree in Turkish Language and Literature, students must successfully complete all compulsory and elective courses in the program and the thesis defense exam.

MISION
To adopt basic concepts and terms related to Turkish language and literature, methodology of the field. To do research on Turkish Language and Literature.
VISION
To teach the knowledge required to formulate, analyze and utilize data concerning the field.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates can teach in secondary and high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, private schools, and private teaching institutions. Candidates who successfully complete their undergraduate education can continue their studies in graduate programs, provided they receive a passing score on the ALES exam and possess sufficient foreign language proficiency. Furthermore, they can participate in academic life as faculty members or work as research assistants and lecturers at universities. They can also work in the Ministry of Culture, TRT, media outlets, publishing houses, various ministries, educational and cultural institutions abroad, and archives.

Access to Further Studies
The requirement is to be a graduate of the Turkish Language and Literature Department and to have a sufficient score from ALES, YDS / e-YDS, YÖKDİL / e-YÖKDİL and equivalent exams.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
There are two types of compulsory exams: end-of-term exams and make-up exams for students who fail the end-of-term exams. The end-of-term exam for a course is held at the end of the semester in which that course is completed. The exam format (written, written-oral or practical) is determined by the responsible faculty member. The impact rate of the end-of-term exam must be at least 60%. The impact rate of make-up and end-of-term exams must be equal.

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass the compulsory and elective courses, seminar courses, specialization courses to be taken each semester, and the thesis study, provided that a minimum of 120 ECTS credits are completed in the program.
