General Description
DTurkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program trains Turkish teachers who can work in secondary schools within the Faculty of Education. The Department of Turkish Education started its educational activities in 1993. Bursa Uludağ University Turkish Teaching Undergraduate Program is the third Turkish language teaching program that accepts students after Gazi and Dokuz Eylül Universities in the historical process. After the program in 1994, when the first students were educated, education activities were carried out in accordance with the teacher training programs of YÖK in 1997, like other education faculties undergraduate programs. In 2006, 2009 and 2017, adjustments were made in the curriculum. Starting from the 2022-2023 academic year, a new curriculum has been implemented gradually.
This department offers 240 ECTS credits in the field of Turkish Education. Graduates who successfully completed the program with established qualifications shall have a bachelor degree in Turkish Education.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have high school diploma and an eligible score from the University Entrance Exam.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To obtain bachelor´s degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technology program the students must successfully complete the required and elective courses (total 240 ECTS) and maintain the minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the department is to develop Turkish culture and art -especially Turkish language and education, to transmit the contemporary information in this field, to make efforts to construct the scientific universal basis of the created values, to make efforts for the acquisition of Atatürk principles and our Republic’s basic qualities, to depend all these activities at the basis of homeland and nation love and to make efforts to train individuals who has the same qualifications.

Key Learning Outcomes & Classified & Comparative

S/he knows the theories and concepts related to Turkish and world literature in the historical process; analyzes texts according to literary movements and analysis methods.

S/he knows theories, classifications and concepts related to linguistics and grammar; analyzes language units according to the structural features of Turkish.

S/he recognizes all aspects of the Turkish Teaching Program; in line with the program, s/he plans and practises the teaching processes by taking into account the individual differences of the students (readiness, special training needs, mother tongue, etc.).

S/he selects qualified texts and designs activities suitable for students' development levels.
|
5.
S/he follows the developments related to education, culture and agenda through national and international publications.
|
6.
S/he knows the assessment and evaluation strategies in the manner of Turkish education, develops and uses assessment instruments.

S/he designs materials suitable for students' individual differences and developmental characteristics by using strategies to develop language skills (listening/watching, speaking, reading, writing).

S/he sets an example for the society in order to develop language sensitivity and language awareness by using Turkish in every environment in accordance with the rules, effectively and carefully.

S/he observes national and spiritual universal values, sets a model for the society with her/his attitudes and behaviors by communicating effectively with her/his shareholders.

S/he acts in accordance with her/his duties, rights and responsibilities as a citizen and teacher.

S/he knows that s/he should constantly support her/his personal and professional development by participating in national and international meetings, improving her/his foreign language (s) and cooperating with her/his colleagues.

S/ he knows the basic concepts and principles required by the teaching profession (classroom management, measurement and evaluation, educational psychology, educational philosophy and teaching principles and methods, counseling course etc.).

In cooperation with her/his shareholders, s/he organizes in-school and out-of-school social-cultural activities (poem performance, theatre, commemoration, celebrations, etc. for certain days and weeks).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates can be employed as Turkish education teachers in both public and private schools under the Ministry of National Education.

Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of undergraduate degree, candidate can study in postgraduate program if s/he has eligible ALES exam score and has sufficient knowledge of a foreign language.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the program. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the program, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. To succeed in a course, students must get at least 40 points from the final exam and have at least 50 points average. Students who get AA, AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are considered successful. DC and DD are notes that conditionally successful. Students have to attend 70% in theoretical, 80% of practical sessions of courses.
