General Description
The department of classroom education, whose foundations date back to the School of Education, which was established in 1982, continues its education with 10 lecturers, 4 lecturers, 1 research assistant and 1 project assistant.
In the Department of Classroom Education, students are provided with a four-year undergraduate education that includes general culture, field education and teaching profession knowledge and skills. Teaching profession training practices are carried out with Teaching Practice I and II courses in the 7th and 8th semesters in primary schools determined by the National Education Directorates within the framework of the cooperation of the Ministry of National Education and YÖK.
The department offers 240 ECTS credits in the field of Primary Education. Graduates who successfully completed the program with established qualifications shall have a bachelor degree in Primary Education program.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have high school diploma and an eligible score from the University Entrance Exam.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

To obtain bachelor´s degree in Primary Education program the students must successfully complete the required and elective courses (total 240 ECTS) and maintain the minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0

Training primary class teachers who are steeped in the values of the information society, use scientific methods that solve the problems of teaching and teacher training and become well-trained and equipped at national and international level,

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates can be employed as primary education teachers in both public and private schools under the Ministry of National Education.

Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of undergraduate degree, candidate can study in postgraduate program if s/he has eligible ALES exam score and has sufficient knowledge of a foreign language.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the program. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the program, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. To succeed in a course, students must get at least 40 points from the final exam and have at least 50 points average. Students who get AA, AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are considered successful. DC and DD are notes that conditionally successful. Students have to attend 70% in theoretical, 80% of practical sessions of courses.

Department of Classroom Teaching carried out in technically equipped classrooms and laboratories with training and education activities. In this department 12 units with 10 units of computers and printers are available to the faculty members to use for educational and academic activities.
Elementary Education Department has classrooms, laboratories, and also computers are available to students in the corridors. There are 3 computers in the faculty lab that are available to students outside class hours.
University Central library and faculty’s library are open to both students and faculty members’ use.
