General Description
Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Dentistry was established in 2019. The faculty´s Basic Sciences training is carried out with the facilities and academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Basic Sciences. Clinical Sciences training is provided at Bursa Oral and Dental Health Education and Research Hospital within the framework of the joint use protocol signed on June 11, 2020. The duration of education at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Dentistry is 5 years. An integrated education system is implemented in our faculty. Students learn and apply their knowledge and skills related to the field of dentistry in a horizontal, vertical and in-depth integrated manner that supports each other in the basic, preclinical and clinical fields.
This department has a 300 ECTS credit system in the field of dentistry. When the program qualifications are successfully achieved, the student receives the title of Dentist.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have received a sufficient score from the Higher Education Institutions Exam or meet the necessary conditions in accordance with the regulations of the Council of Higher Education regarding the admission of international students.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain a master´s degree in dentistry, students must successfully complete all compulsory and elective courses/clinical practices and other activities such as observation in clinics, pre-clinical research, presentations or seminars (equivalent to a total of 300 ECTS) and have a general weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

The education program we offer to our students in line with this vision and mission; is a program that is implemented with both horizontal, vertical and in-depth integration, is processed simultaneously by disciplines related to dentistry and related human sciences, and its education-training content is created on the basis of course boards or clinical practice programs and is enriched with panels, problem-based learning modules, small group trainings, peer training and simulations, and this education-training model consists of three stages. Stage 1; includes the Pre-Clinical Education-Training process in which the basic and clinical sciences education-training program is taught theoretically and practically in Periods 1, 2 and 3; Stage 2; includes the 1 (one) year Clinical Education-Training process covering Period 4, where students who complete Stage 1 work compulsorily and/or electively in all department clinics; Stage 3 includes the practical internship education process covering Period 5, where students who complete Stage 2 work compulsorily and/or electively in integrated clinics and certain departments. In the five-year Faculty of Dentistry education and training, they read the basic curriculum of basic and clinical sciences in an integrated theoretical and practical manner, in accordance with the Core Education Program and Uludağ Framework Education Program. Those who successfully complete all stages receive the title of dentist.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples

6-Can do a doctorate of science in dentistry and basic medical sciences, and can specialize in dentistry.
7- Graduates who want to specialize in Dentistry; According to the result of the Dentistry Specialization Education Entrance Exam (DUS), which is organized once a year by the Student Selection and Placement Center, they are accepted to the specialty education, and they start their specialty education in the Faculty of Dentistry of state and foundation universities or in the Faculty of Dentistry on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
8- Graduates who want to do a doctorate in science; can apply to clinical dentistry doctoral programs in dentistry faculties at state or foundation universities and doctoral programs in basic medical sciences at medical faculties. Those who are successful as a result of the evaluation start their Science Doctorate education.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who successfully complete their dentistry education can transfer to higher degree programs if they have sufficient knowledge of a foreign language and pass special exams (Dentistry Specialization Education Entrance Exam and Doctorate Program).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
It is implemented in accordance with the 32nd article of the Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulation taken by the BUÜ senate decision and the Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Dentistry Pre-Graduation Education-Teaching and Examination Directive.

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully graduate from the Faculty of Dentistry, it is necessary to pass all the courses in the first five years (equivalent to 300 ECTS) and obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. They obtain this following approval by the Ministry of Health.

There are 4 Professors, 9 Associate Professors and 12 Assistant Professors working in the Faculty of Dentistry.
Theoretical education in our faculty is provided face-to-face or online (hybrid-synchronous distance + face-to-face) in 1 large and 2 small classrooms within our faculty. In addition, we have a 60-person Phantom laboratory where our Term 3 students can receive pre-clinical practical training.
There is a 60-student preclinical application laboratory, faculty offices and clinics for each department within the T.R. Ministry of Health Bursa Oral and Dental Health Hospital, which we are affiliated with.
