General Description
Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Dentistry was established in 2019. The Basic Sciences education of the Faculty will be carried out with the facilities of the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Basic Sciences and academic staff. Clinical Sciences trainings will be given at Bursa Oral and Dental Health Training and Research Hospital within the framework of the joint use protocol signed on 11 June 2020.
The duration of education at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Dentistry is 5 years. An integrated education system is applied in our faculty. Students learn and apply their knowledge and skills in the field of dentistry in a way that supports each other in basic, preclinical and clinical fields, horizontally, vertically and deeply integrated.
This department has a 300 ECTS credit system in the field of dentistry. When the program qualifications are successfully provided, the student gets the title of Dentist.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma or an equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the Examination of Higher Education Institutions or meet the required conditions in accordance with the regulations of the Higher Education Council regarding international student acceptance.

The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain a master´s degree in dentistry, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses /clinical applications and other activities such as observation, preclinical research, presentation or seminar in clinics (equivalent to a total of 300 ECTS) and their cumulative grade point average is at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

The educational program we offer to our students in line with this vision and mission; Panels, problem-based learning modules, small group trainings, which are applied with both horizontal, vertical and in-depth integration, concurrently taught by disciplines related to dentistry and related human sciences, which are formed on the basis of educational content course boards or clinical applications programs. is a program enriched with peer education and simulations, and this education-teaching model consists of three stages. Stage 1; In semesters 1 and 2, Basic Sciences (horizontal and vertical integration), where mainly basic and clinical disciplines are integrated as body organ systems or boards on the basis of themes, and Medicine and Human Sciences, which prepares students for clinical education and training in terms of dental practices and professional attitudes and behaviors It covers the Pre-clinical Education-Training process in which (in-depth integration) courses are given. Stage 2; Semester 3 and 4 students gain the ability to use the basic concepts and principles of dentistry in the analysis of clinical cases and thus, by analytically evaluating the patients they see, to choose appropriate diagnosis and treatment approaches, to apply clinical skills at an adequate level, and to exhibit attitudes and behaviors in accordance with professional and ethical values. Stage 3 includes the Dentistry process in which students who have successfully completed the first two stages are more actively involved in clinical practice in term 5. In the five-year education and training of the Faculty of Dentistry, they study theoretically and practically in accordance with the Core Education Program and the Uludağ Framework Education Program, integrating the basic curriculum of basic and clinical sciences. Students who fulfill the credit load and other conditions determined at the end of Phase 1 and 2 become Term 5 Students, which will last 12 months in total. Those who successfully complete this period receive the title of dentist.

8- Graduates who want to do a doctorate in science; can apply to clinical dentistry doctoral programs in dentistry faculties at state or foundation universities and doctoral programs in basic medical sciences at medical faculties. Those who are successful as a result of the evaluation start their Science Doctorate education.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who successfully complete their education in dentistry, if they have sufficient knowledge of foreign languages and pass special exams (Dentistry Specialization Training Entrance Exam, Faculty Training Program and Doctorate Program), they transfer to higher degree programs.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
It is applied in accordance with the Article 32 of the Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulations taken by BUU Senate Decision and BUU Faculty of Dentistry Education and Examination Directive.

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully graduate from the Faculty of Dentistry, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the first five years (equivalent to 300 ECTS) and to obtain a weighted grade average of at least 2.00 over 4.00. They obtain it following its approval by the Ministry of Health.

4 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, 4 Assistant Professor and 3 Lecturers work within the Faculty of Dentistry.
In our faculty, theoretical education is given face to face or online (hybrid-synchronous distance + face to face) in 3 large and more than 30 small classrooms within the Faculty of Medicine. Basic medical sciences courses are given by faculty members, who were accredited in 2012 and reacred for 6 years in 2018. Almost all of the classrooms have all technological facilities such as computers with internet access, projectors, and sound systems.
“USIM-GOOD MEDICINE APPLICATIONS AND SIMULATION CENTER” has taken its place in the new training program with the transition to integrated education. A six-unit standard patient outpatient clinic and a simulation unit containing five wireless advanced technology simulators were established in the center, which includes innovations for free work such as professional skills applications, cyber anatomy, cyber physiology, computer and microscope laboratories and multidisciplinary technology areas.
There are 885 beds in BUÜ Health Application and Research Center, which has all kinds of advanced technological facilities where applied trainings are held. This center was accredited by JCI (Joint Commission International) for 7 years in 2007, and also received the ISO 9001-2000 quality certificate from SGS.
T.R. The Ministry of Health Bursa Oral and Dental Health Hospital is a hospital that received 95 points from Health Quality Standards Oral and Dental Health Services inspections in 2019. It has a preclinical practice laboratory for 30 students, faculty offices and clinics belonging to each department.
