Computer Education and Instructional Technology
General Description
Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology offers bachelor´s degree since the academic year of 1998-1999. The department is currently holds 4 professor, 2 associate professor, 1 assistant professor, 1 doctor research assistant and 1 lecturer.
The primary aim of the department is to prepare outstanding Information and Computer Technology (ICT) teachers to be employed in both public and private schools under the Ministry of National Education to provide technology education and to facilitate technology integration. The graduates may work as teachers, educational technologists, teacher trainers or academicians.
This department offers 240 ECTS credits in the field of Computer Education and Instructional Technology degree. Graduates who successfully completed the program with established qualifications shall have a bachelor degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technology.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have high school diploma and an eligible score from the University Entrance Exam.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To obtain bachelor´s degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technology program the students must successfully complete the required and elective courses (total 240 ECTS) and maintain the minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0

Profile of The Programme
The primary mission of the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology is to prepare outstanding Information and Computer Technology (ICT) teachers to be employed in both public and private schools under the Ministry of National Education to provide technology education and to facilitate technology integration. Furthermore, the Department aims to prepare educators, scholars, and researchers and to advance the profession of Instructional Design by combining the science and art of teaching and learning, the repertoire of research methods rooted in various paradigms, the effective uses of technology and the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional practices.
As of 2012, faculty members coordinates 6 University funded projects, 1 TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) funded project and 1 European Union funded project.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates can be employed as educational technologists, IT advisors, teacher trainers or teachers in both public and private schools under the Ministry of National Education to provide technology education and to facilitate technology integration.

Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of undergraduate degree, candidate can study in postgraduate program if s/he has eligible ALES exam score and has sufficient knowledge of a foreign language.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the program. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the program, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. To succeed in a course, students must get at least 40 points from the final exam and have at least 50 points average. Students who get AA, AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are considered successful. DC and DD are notes that conditionally successful. Students have to attend 70% in theoretical, 80% of practical sessions of courses.

Graduation Requirements
To complete the bachelor´s degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technology program the students must successfully complete the required and elective courses (total 240 ECTS) and maintain the minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0
