General Description

Brief History
The Institute of Social Sciences (1982) is one of the four Institutes at Uludag University. The Institute has been going at full blast as offering MA and PhD Programmes since 1982-1983 academic year.
Although, Sub-Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations has two programmes [MA and PhD], but Sub-Department of Labour Psychology and Human Resources (for the first time was opened in 2003-2004 academic year but later was opened in 2011-2012 academic year again) has only one MA Programme.

Qualification Awarded
According to Turkish Council of Higher Education, Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations is subject to 90-120 ECTS in MA Programme, 120 ECTS in MA Programme without thesis. After one of the programme is completed successfully and program’s qualifications are met, MA degree is achieved in the field of Labour Psychology and Human Resources.

Specific Admission Requirements
1. Bachelor´s degree 2. ALES [Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam] score (valid for 3 years; candidate(s) can apply the Exam who graduate from Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Departments; Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Public Law [EA-Equally-Weighted score] or Theological, History, Turkish Language and Literature, Archaeology Departments, Art History [SÖZ-Verbal score] and need to get a minimum of 55 scores. Alien students must have ALES and the other certificates which are valid for international -GRE, GMAT etc.- and not need to be any score). 3. Sufficient score of foreign language (for UÜDS, KPDS, ÜDS must be at least min. 50 score; for TOEFL IBT must be at least min. 50 score; for TOEFL CBT must be at least min. 130, and for TOEFL PBT must be at least min. 450 score. Alien students must have TÖMER certificate to speak and understand Turkish language) - for MA Programme: ALES 50% + BA graduate score 15% + Foreign Language 15% + Interview 20% = Total score of candidate - for alien students: ALES 50% + BA graduate score 25% + Interview 25% = Total score of candidate

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Current lessons of MA Programme must have min. 21 credits and max. 28 credits (MA Programme without thesis must have 16 credits and MA Programme with thesis must have 24 credits on annual basis). If a candidate passes all exams of these lessons with -for MA Programme- 70/100 score and after write and present his/her thesis to academic jury concerning this Sub-Department of Labour Psychology and Human Resources, the MA degree will be given to the candidate.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
People who graduated from Sub-Department of Labour Psychology and Human Resources keeping hold of MA degree should be employment in some positions at Ministry of Labour and Social Security and dependent institutions and human resources specialist position at human resources service in company at private sector.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates who have successfully completed Bachelor’s degree, and after providing “application” + “interview” = “succeed” later may apply to national and/ or international MA programmes.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Graduates who have successfully completed Bachelor’s degree, and after providing “application” + “interview” = “succeed” later may apply to national and/ or international MA programmes.

Graduation Requirements
In order for a student to be able to register for the courses at the beginning of the term and to take the final examination, she/he has to attend at least 70% of the classes. Students are made to take at least one final examination for each of the courses during a semester. All exams are scored on the scale of 100 and students have to get a score that is min. 70. A student is successful if she/he receives AA, BA, BB, CB and CC as the letter grade from a class.
