General Description
Department of Biology was founded in 1983 and started to education with two faculty members and two research assistants in five departmental sections namely, General Biology, Botany, Zoology, Molecular Biology and Hydrobiology. The first year of the department was completed in the building of Education Faculty in Yildirim county of Bursa. Beginning of the next academic year, the department moved to its new location and located in A and B block of Arts and Science Faculty at Gorukle Campus of Bursa Uludag University. The department started to accept students according to dual education program for the first time in the beginning of 1993-1994 academic year. By 2013, the department continues education with 29 faculty members, 10 research assistants, 3biologists and 1 senior biologist in the departmental sections of General Biology, Botany, Zoology, Hydrobiology, Molecular Biology and Ecology in Faculty of Arts and Sciences buildings A, B, C, F and G. Enrolled student number is 351 in daytime education and 283 in evening education making up of a number of 634 students in total.
This is a first cycle degree program with 240 ECTS credits in the science of Biology. Bachelor´s degree in Biology will be awarded upon meeting the qualification requirements and successful completion of the program.
