Computer Education and Instructional Technology
General Description
Institute of Education, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology offers master’s program since 2011-2012 academic year. The department is currently holds 2 professor, 3 associate professor, 2 assistant professor, 2 research assistant and 2 lecturers. The primary aim of the masters is to gain specialized skills in the field of information technologies In addition; we aim to train master’s students to follow the latest developments in the instructional technology field in order to evaluate and manage projects and to use these technologies effectively in the field.
This program offers 120 ECTS credits in the field of Computer Education and Instructional Technology master’s degree. Graduates who successfully completed the program with established qualifications shall have a master’s degree with thesis in Computer Education and Instructional Technology.

Specific Admission Requirements
1. 4-year University diploma from Computer Education and Instructional Technology
2. Eligible score from the Selection Examination for Academic and Graduate Studies (ALES)
3. Eligible score from the foreign language exam (ÜDS or KPDS)
4. Eligible score from the interview with the jury

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

To obtain master’s degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technology program the students must successfully complete the required and elective courses (total 120 ECTS, maintain the minimum cumulative GPA of 70/100, and defend the thesis successfully in front of an elected jury.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the programme is to graduate master’s student who can work as an educational technologist or educational technology assistant who knows updated and innovative technologies, applies these technologies in educational environment, designs original learning environment, develops new materials to meet the needs, works interdisciplinary, respects cultural, social and universal values, open minded, creative and qualified.

Graduates can be employed as educational technologists and IT advisors or pursue their career at the universities

Upon successful completion of master’s degree, candidate can study in a doctoral program at a related field.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Students have to attend 70% of theoretical, 80% of practical sessions of courses. Students take at least one final examination for each course at the end of the semester All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Students are required to receive at least 70 from the final examination. Those who receive one of the following letter grades “AA, BA, BB, CB, and CC” are considered successful.
