General Description
The Master´s Program in Painting was established in the 2010-2011 academic year within the Institute of Social Sciences. The aim of the program is to train creative and innovative professional artists with academic knowledge and experience in the field of fine arts, in line with contemporary and current information. The duration of the Master´s program is four semesters, with a maximum completion period of six semesters.

Specific Admission Requirements
To be accepted into the Master´s program, applicants must: 1- Hold a license degree in Painting Main Art/Science Branch (with a minimum grade point average of 2.25). 2- Foreign students (except those studying in Turkey) are required to submit a TÖMER certificate proving their proficiency in Turkish. 3- There is no ALES requirement.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To be awarded a Master´s degree in the Department of Painting, students must complete all compulsory and elective courses in the program with a minimum grade of 70 out of 100 and earn a total of 120 ECTS credits. Upon completion of the program, students who successfully defend their work statement/thesis before a jury and present their artistic works are awarded a Master of Fine Arts degree in the Department of Painting.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Students who successfully complete the Master´s Program can work as independent artists or researchers, teach at schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education by fulfilling the necessary conditions, work as decorators or designers in various sectors, or produce artworks in their own studios.

Access to Further Studies
Students who graduate from this program are eligible to apply for doctoral and proficiency in arts programs at universities.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for each student to register for courses at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam, they must have attended at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practical courses. Students are required to take at least one final exam for each course. The end-of-semester exam may be conducted using assessment methods such as written exams, report presentations, art and/or design works, and/or projects. All exams are graded on a scale of 100 points. To pass a course, students must earn at least 70 points and receive one of the following letter grades: AA, BA, BB, or CB. Students must retake required courses in which they fail. If they fail an elective course, they may take another elective course in its place with the approval of their advisor. Seminar courses, specialization areas, and thesis work are not credited under the local credit system and are evaluated as either successful or unsuccessful.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Master´s Program in Painting, students must pass all courses available in the program, earn a total of 120 ECTS credits, and successfully complete the artwork text/thesis.

The Department of Painting has a full-time faculty consisting of 1 professor, 4 associate professors, and 1 assistant professor.
The department features a Theoretical Classroom, a Basic Art Education Studio, a Computer Classroom, a Modeling Studio, a Printmaking Studio, a Perspective and Technical Drawing Classroom, as well as Painting Studios.
