General Description
Bursa University Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which was established in 1976, was renamed Uludağ University Faculty of Engineering with a new structure in 1982, and with the decision to open the Department of Architecture in 1993, the name of the Faculty was changed to Uludağ University Faculty of Engineering-Architecture. As of the 2011-2012 academic year, there are eight departments within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. These; Departments of Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering.
In the Department of Architecture, education began to be provided at the undergraduate level in the 1994-95 academic year, at the master´s level in the 2000-2001 academic year, and at the doctoral level in the second half of the 2005-2006 academic year. Educational studies continue as the Faculty of Architecture in 2013. As a result of the 2024-2025 education program, a total of 649 undergraduate, 75 graduate and 59 doctoral students are studying in the Department.
The Department of Architecture, is subject to the first cycle degree system of higher education in the field of Architecture Science that has 240 ECTS credits. If the program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are met, the students shall have a BS degree in Science of Architecture.

Candidates must have high school diploma Candidates must obtain the required scores on the examinations called Transition to Higher Education Examination (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS) administred by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM)

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students have to succeed in required compulsory, elective courses and summer practices totally 240 ECTS credits determined in the educational plan of the Department of Architecture and their CGPAs have to be at least 2.00 in order to receive a graduate diploma

The aim of the program is to bring up architects who have professional knowledge and capability for taking an effective role in the formation and transformation of the physical environment; can work in harmony within a team which consists of members from different disciplines, have the ability of making analysis, synthesis and interpretation; have awareness on the necessity of lifetime learning and have architectural professional responsibility and ethical values.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who completed bachelor degree successfully, passed ALES examination and proved to have sufficient knowledge of foreign language are eligible to study in graduate programmes.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for the student to be considered successful in the relevant course, this grade must be at least 70 out of 100.

Graduation Requirements
IIn order for students to successfully complete the doctoral program, they must fulfill the conditions described in the "Qualification Requirements and Rules" section and successfully defend their doctoral thesis in a field related to their subject before a selected jury.

As of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Department of Architecture has a young and dynamic staff consisting of 14 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 doctoral lecturer, 1 doctoral lecturer and 10 research assistants.
The Department of Architecture, which started its academic activities in 1994-95, served in the central building of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and the Department of Environmental Engineering building until January 1998. After this date, it was moved to the Department of Architecture Building, which was officially opened on October 1, 1998. Designed as a three-storey building, the Department of Architecture Building consists of a closed area of ??3568 m2 (lower floor: 1428 m2, upper floor: 1200 m2; attic floor: 940 m2) and an open inner courtyard area of ??359 m2. On the ground floor of the Department of Architecture Building, there are 6 studio units; 3 research project rooms, 1 photocopy room, 1 TUBITAK research room, 1 seminar hall; There is 1 archive room, 1 laboratory, 1 student canteen and rooms of academic and administrative staff.
