General Description
Doctorate program in Econometrics main science branch got started within Social Sciences Institution in 1983.
Doctorate program in Econometrics main science branch is subject to 180-240 credits third stage system. After the program is completed successfully and program´s qualifications are met, third cycle degree is achieved.

Specific Admission Requirements
1- Master`s Degree Certificate,
2- Candidates should have the required score from the postgraduate education entrance exam (PEEE) valid for 3 years and the verbal-equiponderant score should be 55 the minimum (See the Masters Degree Instruction).
The PEEE score document and internationally accepted documents (GRE, GMAT etc.) are required for foreign students without any score clause.
3- Candidates should sufficient foreign language proficiency (the score of 55 the minimum from such language proficiency exams as YDS in the languages of English, French, German and Arabic, the score of 55 the minimum from TOEFL IBT, the score of 134 from TOEFL CBT, the score of 453 from TOEFL PBT and the equiponderant other exams). Foreign students (apart from those who have studied in Turkey) are required to have the minimum score of 55 from languages such as English, French, German and Arabic and should also have the TÖMER documents proving that they have sufficient proficiency of Turkish language (except those who studied in Turkey).
For Doctorate Degree
- PEEE 50% + GRADUATE SUCCESS AVARAGE 10% + MASTER SUCCESS AVARAGE 10% + WRITTEN/INTERVIEW 30% = Candidates are ranked according to the weighted total score that they have earned from the general assessment and students are admitted according to the quota starting with the candidate with the highest score (Minimum score of 70 must be obtained for a passing grade).
For Foreign Students
MASTER SUCCESS AVARAGE 50% + FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY 50% = Candidates are ranked according to the weighted total score that they have earned from the general assessment and students are admitted according to the quota starting with the candidate with the highest score.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who have attended minimum 24 an maximum 30 credit courses and have finished them all 75 points out of 100 and have defended his/her thesis successfully in the field of his/her branch are awarded with third cycle diploma.

Profile of The Programme
It is aimed to improve the basic knowledge of econometrics, statistics and operations research science branches that is taken in the Bachelors level and second cycle level to more advance level. Thus, econometrician, statistician and operation researchers that can use advance level techniques are educated. In schedule, advance level courses of econometrics, statistics and operations research science branches are existed. Students who were not graduated from econometrics in both first and second cycle are taught in scientific preparation course and so required basic knowledge are taught. Students are up skilled to write scientific paper and scientific dissertation. Also, knowledge that can devise projects in solving public and private sectors are presented to the students.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Job opportunities are available in both public and private sectors. In public sector it can be worked at some institutions such as state planning organization and Turkish statistical institute and in private sector it can be worked at some institutuions such as research firms, finance, banking and insurance.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates, who have successfully completed second cycle degree can be in the educated in the third cycle programmes under the condition that they completed their applications and succeeded interviewing.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for each student to be able to register for the courses at the beginning of the term and to take the final examination, she/he has to attend at least 70% of the classes. Students are made to take at least one final examination for each of the courses. All exams are evaluated over 100 point. To be successful in the final exam it is obliged that minimum 75 points should be taken. Students that have AA, BA, BB and CB final grades for any course are thought to be succeeded.

Graduation Requirements
In order to complete the program successfully it is required to pass all the courses in the program (equivalent to total 180-240 AKTS), to pass proficiency exam, to succeed in professional courses , to publish a paper in a refereed journal and complete the thesis with success.
