General Description
Business administration department, has its current structure in 1982, with the combination of three business administration departments. These are Bursa Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy which was established in 1970, Bursa University Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences Business Administration department which was established in 1974, Balıkesir Tourism and Management Vocational School´s Business Administration department which was established in 1975. Since 1982, it offers undergraduate and graduate level education. Academic activities carried out in five fields:
-Accounting and Finance,
-Production Management and Marketing
-Management and Organization,
-Commercial Law,
-Quantitative Techniques,
Department of business administration is subject to 240 ECTS credits in the fields of business administration science. When the program is completed successfully and programs qualifications are met, Bachelor degree is achieved in the field of business administration.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates have to have diplomas of high schools and their equivalents and get adequate score from University Entrance Exam.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students should fulfill 240 ECTS which has been predetermined at department programme including must and elective courses. In addition, Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 2.00/4.00 to earn Bachelor’s degree for Business Administration

Profile of The Programme
The main objective of the department is to give graduates, to satisfy the requirements of todays and tomorrows working life, who have knowledge, skills and self confidence. Department aims to students, produce scientific knowledge through research and publications, synthesize, , interpret and serve this information to the community. Department of Business Administration consists of courses in the field of "Accounting and Finance", "Production Management and Marketing", "Management and Organization", "Commercial Law", "Quantitative Techniques". In the first year of undergraduate programme, courses involving general information and courses that form basis to business management is given. Students starting from the second year of the programme, are directed to obtain information on the depth of sub-branches in the business, investigate and think practically with elective courses. Each student is assigned an advisor and with the help of their advisors they make their course preferences.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates, who have successfully completed undergraduate degree, providing at least minimum acceptable ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score and have a sufficient command on a foreign language, may apply to graduate programmes in Turkey or abroad.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student has to register for the classes at the beginning of the term, and she/he has to attend at least 70% of the classes to be able to enter the final exam. Students are made to take at least one mid-term and one final examination for each of the courses during a semester. The final grade for success is calculated by taking in account 40% of the mid-term grade and 60% of the final examination grade. Grades taken from the term papers, quizzes etc. can also be included in the calculation of the mid-term examination grade. All exams are assessed over a total of 100. For a student to be included in the Conditional Assessment System she/he needs to get a minimum of 20 as raw final grade and in order to be successful from a class her/his raw final grade must be at least 40. Besides, she/he must get a minimum of 30 as the final examination grade. A student is successful if she/he receives AA, BA, BB, CB and CC as the letter grade from a class. The letter grades of DC and DD stand for conditional success. In these cases, in order for a student to be successful from the class, her/his Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) should be at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the programme, it is required to pass all the courses in the programme (equivalent to total 240 ECTS) and to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 over 4.00.

Education Language is Turkish in the depatment. A library, reading room and a computer lab is available for students use. Students have the opportunity of studying at contracting universities during at two semesters within the Erasmus and Farabi Programmes. Students may take place in the Board of universities clubs. In Business Administration Department, at present there are 15 professors, 6 associate professors, 5 asistant professors, 3 lecturer and 10 asistants on duty.
