General Description
Mechanical Engineering Graduate Programmes are carried out by Uludag University Institute of Technology established in 1982, under the regulations and principles of ´The Council of Higher Education´. Graduate Programmes consist of Mechanical Design and Manufacture, Thermodynamics, Energy, Mechanics, Machine Theory and Dynamics Programmes.
The Doctorate (Ph. D.) Degree in Mechanical Engineering Program is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Specific Admission Requirements
Master school certificate is required. Bachelor´s degree candidates can apply to the integrated PhD program. The application conditions, evaluation, required documents, exams and registration issues for the Ph.D. program are announced on the University website.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The program provided a total of not less than 7 selective courses (42 ECTS), a compulsory course (2 ECTS), Phd proficiency examination (10 ECTS), one seminar (4 ECTS) , thesis and dissertation defence. Consists of compulsory and elective courses in graduate courses. 240 ECTS total number of credits of the program. In order to be successful in the course concerned student has to score at least 75 out of 100, which are mandatory. Students who have the relevant conditions are awarded to Doctoral in Mechanical Engineering.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates who successfully completed doctorate degree may apply to both in the same or related disciplines in higher education institutions at home or abroad to get a position in academic staff or to governmental R&D centers to get expert position.

Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully pass all compulsory and elective courses on the program (equivalent to a total of 180-240 ECTS) mention about "Qualification Requirements and Regulations". And who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum will be given The Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Program.

21 Professors, 13 Associated Professors, 4 Assistant Professors, 3 Instructors and 7 Research Assistants including 2 PhD degree serve in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uludag University.
Undegraduate Courses are conducted in 18 classes in the block of classroom of Mechanical Engineering Department.Student capacities of these classes are 60 for five classes, 80 for four classes, 125 for two classes, 40 for four classes, 18 for two classes and 36 for one class. These classes have the required features for a modern Engineering education. All of these classes are equipped with air conditioning and a projection device.
There are 9 laboratories used for education and research activities in the department.
