Brief History
In the Science Education Department, education is carried out with a total of 263 students, 12 lecturers and 1 research assistant, and lecturers from other programs.
Science Education Department is a program opened to meet the science teacher needs. In this program, which accepts students since 2003-2004 academic year, students are given field knowledge, general culture and general education courses. As of the 2011-2012 academic year, II. Students started to be accepted for education and in the same year, with the decision of YÖK, II. The teaching program has been closed. II. No other students were admitted to the curriculum until they graduated. Students are still being accepted to the primary education science teaching program.

Qualification Awarded
Students who attend all of the required and elective courses in the program (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS) and successfully complete these courses and achieve a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are awarded a bachelor´s degree in Science Education.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma or an equivalent school diploma, and have obtained sufficient points in the form of numerical score from the University Student Selection Exam. In addition, during placement in teaching programs, there is a condition that candidates who have a placement score below the placement score of the candidate who is in the 300 thousandth place in placement score type cannot be placed in the program even if they are first in the school.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain a bachelor´s degree in the field of Science Education, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS) in the program and their cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.0 out of 4.00..

To become a nationally and internationally preferred education program that trains teachers and academicians who can conduct education and research in the field of science education on a global scale.

1. Understands the relationship between the terms related Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics fields.
2. Knows about the evaluation of the limits of reliability and validity of nature of science & technology and resources.
3. Knows and applies the methods related to the teaching programs about his/her area and techniques of measurement and evaluation.
4. Knows about theoretical and factual information about students' learning characteristics and challenges about science and technology depending on their level of development.
5. Comments, examines, and conceptualizes the events and facts with scientific methods and techniques related to their area.
6. Selects and implements appropriate teaching methods based on science education targets.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates are employed as Science Teachers or managers in private or public secondary schools. However, graduates can continue their education by completing a master´s and doctorate in Science Education discipline or other disciplines that accept students from this field.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can continue their graduate programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the applied courses in order to register for the courses at the beginning of the term and to enter the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm exam, one homework or an activity and a final exam for each course. The contribution to the success grade is 40% for the midterm exam and 60% for the final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Also, there is a requirement to get at least 50 points from the final exam. Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC letter grades from a course are considered successful from that course. Students who get DC and DD grades are considered successful. In order for the student´s DC or DD grades to be considered successful, his / her overall weighted grade point average (GANO) must be at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
Students who pass all of the courses available in the program (equivalent to 240 ECTS) and have a weighted average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are considered graduates.

Facilities
Education and training activities in the Science Education Department are carried out in technically equipped classrooms and laboratories. There are 2 Science Laboratories in our department. In these laboratories, microscope, stereo microscope, oven, dryer, centrifuge, desiccator, oven, various animal and human models and implants, plant models, animal and plant collections, chemical and glass materials, refrigerators, experiment sets and other instruments on physics. supplies are available. A large number of computers and printers, smart boards, etc. are available for the use of Science Education Department faculty members and their assistants. It is used for educational and academic activities.
In the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, there are classrooms, laboratories and also rooms with internet and computers open to the use of graduate students. These rooms are kept ready for the use of students enrolled in graduate programs outside of course hours.
Our university´s central library is rich in periodicals and online databases. Bursa Uludağ University Central Library and Education Faculty Library are actively used by our students. In addition, there is a department library belonging to the Science Education department.
