Physical Education and Sports
General Description
Department of Physical Education and Sport Teaching under the body of Faculty of Education continues its education programs to train sports science specialist in the field of physical education within the educational institutions and reforms of Atatürk´s principles and purposes of the Turkish National Education. Our department began operating its Master degree program in the academic year of 1985-1986 under the body of the Social Sciences Institute. In 1989 our department was directed to the Institute of Health Sciences. Being redirected to the Institute of Education Sciences in 2011, education and training was continued there. With three students and six faculty members the master’s degree program continues its education and training in Görükle Campus buildings and facilities.
Our Institute was established according to the additional item 30 of Law No. 2809 dated 28.03.1983 and the Council of Ministers decision dated 01.02.2010 and numbered 2010/103 and it was published in Offical Newspaper Date and No: 26 February 2010 and 27505.
Since the fall term of 2010-2011 academic year, our Institute of Education Sciences started operating its postgraduate education with a total of 146 students, 26 doctorate and 120 masters students, in 6 departments.
Our Institute primarily aims to carry out projects, researches and postgraduate activities in the field of education sciences and teacher training.
Those graduates who complete the program successfully are given a diploma in the field of Physical Education and Sports.as an specialist in science.

Specific Admission Requirements
To apply for master´s degree program with thesis;
The Bachelor of science degree for the education sciences is required to be ALES (at least 55 points ) determined by the Senate in terms of equally weighted and/ or verbal point type.
The applicants must have a minimum score determined by the Senate from ÜDS, KPDS, TOFEL or an equivalent examination accepted by Higher Education Council, or the language exam prepared by the Uludag University School of Foreign Languages in one of languages required: English, German, French, Italian, Russian and Arabic. The Senate will decide in the equivalence of other foreign language documents.
For the foreign nationals a Turkish competency certificate given by TÖMER and ALES exam results certificate or a certificate of GRE, GWAT and any equivalent test results which are accepted by YÖK.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to apply for a masters program, the candidates must have been graduated from Physical Education and Sport department, Physical Education and Sports college and Physical Education and Sports Technologies of any Faculty of Education.
To achieve a bachelor’s degree on the Physical Education and Sport Teaching, students have to complete all the compulsory and optional courses successfully (240 AKTS in total) and have at least 2.0 over 4.00 in grade point average.
Physical Education and Sports Department or other departments that are associated with the courses in the graduate program of at least 21 credits (60ECTS) courses in and successfully completed all of the over 100, who obtained a CGPA of at least 70 and in related fields, thesis prepared by the selected successfully defended before a jury diplomas are awarded to graduate students in the field of Physical Education and Sport.)

Profile of The Programme
The purpose of this program, Physical Education and Sports program design, implementation, evaluation and development processes, is to hold and act with the principles of professional ethics, Physical Education and Sport, based on scientific methods to analyze the problems of physical education and sport is to train experts in the field. Program, Training Science, Education Programs, Physical Education and Sport Education and Physical Education and Sport in fields of scientific research methods include some required courses. In addition to compulsory courses are elective courses for students according to their preferences.

Access to Further Studies

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
To able to take exams for the courses taken in graduate programs, 70% of theoretical courses, 80% of practical courses is required to be continued. Exams are evaluated by over 100 points. To be successful thesis and non thesis master´s program students must take at least 70 out of 100. The letter grade received over100 points and the coefficient are as follows:

b) Notes and letters received over 100 points above principles for evaluation of graduate programs, and scientific preparation AA, BA, BB, CB and CC is considered successful in that course notes.

Graduation Requirements
Program with a thesis consists of 21 credit hours or less and not more than 28 credit hours minimum of seven courses, seminar courses and a dissertation stage, thesis and dissertation exam.
Although academic preparation programs are not needed, consultant, if necessary, makes the student take courses in undergraduate level.
Successful in the examination and other requirements for the thesis to the bound copy of the thesis provided that the number of jury members to be given to members of the jury department / head of the department, two copies of bound thesis, two electronic copies of thesis and graduation documents saved in pdf format to the institute in the exam delivered within one month from the date of entry of the student, are eligible to receive master´s degrees.
