General Description
Under the Bursa Uludag University, Faculty of Agriculture, The Biosystems Engineering Department was established in 2009, where the fields of expertise of the previous Agricultural Machinery and Agricultural Structures and Irrigation departments were included in the form of Departments. Our department, which is located in most of the developed country universities of the world, started undergraduate education in 2009 and graduate education in 2013. The subjects of our department´s education and work include automation in agriculture and emerging technologies, precision agriculture techniques, energy and machinery, mechanization applications in crop and animal production, post-harvest mechanization applications, agricultural structures, development of land and water resources, development of rural areas. The Biosystems Engineering Department consists of four disciplines: Land and Water Resources, Agricultural Energy Systems, Agricultural Machinery Systems, and Agricultural Structures.
This department is subject to the second stage degree system in the field of Biosystem Engineering in higher education. The Ph.D. programme, on the other hand, has at least seven courses, not less than 24 credit hours (180 ECTS) and not more than 30 credit hours (240 ECTS), one seminar during the course stage, one qualification exam, and the full text publication on the thesis topic or department / science field consists of an original article published SCI-exp journals. When the programs are completed successfully and the program qualifications are met, a Ph.D. in Biosystem Engineering is obtained.
