Laboratory and Veterinary Health
General Description
Laboratory Assistant and Veterinary Health program was opened in KMYO in 2011-2012 education year.
Laborant and Veterinary Health program consists of two years of pre-Bsc and 120 hours of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). When the program is successfully completed and the program requirements are met, students can obtain a pre-Bsc degree .

Specific Admission Requirements
Applicants are required to possess a high school diploma or an equivalent credential and must fulfill the eligibility criteria established by ÖSYM in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to get pre-Bsc degree at Laboratory Assistant and Veterinary Health Program, the total of compulsory and elective hours of the lessons must be the equivalent of 120 ECTS and fully succeeded . The cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.0 out 4.00.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program is to train qualified veterinary health technicians who possess fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of animal health, are specialized in laboratory practices, and are able to follow the relevant professional regulations.
These technicians prioritize animal welfare and human health, take responsibility as team members in solving problems encountered in the field, assist veterinarians in various animal health practices, and are capable of carrying out all related procedures.
They also demonstrate awareness of career planning and lifelong learning, and are equipped to work effectively in the field.
Mission
To train well-equipped and preferred individuals in the fields of laboratory services and animal health; to generate qualified knowledge; and to educate technicians capable of delivering this knowledge to all stakeholders.
Vision
To provide high-quality education in the fields of laboratory sciences and animal husbandry; to become a pioneering department that shapes the future through innovation and entrepreneurship, and leads with the people it serves and the knowledge it produces.
Program Educational Objectives
EO1:
To train qualified veterinary health technicians who possess fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of animal health, specialize in laboratory practices, are proficient in computer-assisted recording and monitoring systems, and are capable of working effectively in the field.
EO2:
To educate professionals who act in accordance with professional ethics and deontology, prioritize animal welfare and human health, are conscious of occupational health and safety, environmental issues, and quality processes, and are able to take responsibility as team members in solving problems encountered in the field.
EO3:
To provide practice-oriented education supported by a strong theoretical foundation in areas such as animal health and diseases, laboratory analyses, vaccination procedures, first aid, and animal care, and to train technicians who can assist veterinarians and carry out all types of procedures in these areas.
EO4:
To cultivate individuals who can express their thoughts effectively in written and spoken Turkish at the level of their knowledge and skills, who can follow developments in their field using a foreign language and communicate with colleagues, and who are aware of career planning and lifelong learning.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates who successfully complete the associate degree program in Laboratory and Veterinary Health at Bursa Uludağ University Karacabey Vocational School are qualified to work in a wide range of institutions and sectors. These include veterinary clinics and animal hospitals, municipal animal shelters and rehabilitation centers, institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, livestock enterprises and farms, veterinary control and research institutes, food production and inspection facilities, both public and private laboratories, as well as pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing companies.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program at Bursa Uludağ University Karacabey Vocational School are eligible for vertical transfer to undergraduate programs, primarily in Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, as well as to departments such as Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Biotechnology in Faculties of Science and Letters, and to Animal Science programs in Faculties of Agriculture.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must attend at least 70% of the lessons and at least 80% of the practices in order to enroll in the classes at the beginning of the term and to enter the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from the measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exam, quiz etc. as midterm grade can also be taken into consideration) to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. in the form. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. There is a requirement to get at least 50 points from the final exam. Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC letter grades from a course are considered successful in that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for a student to be successful in a course in which he / she received DC or DD grade, his / her general weighted grade point average must be at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
In order to complete a program successfully, students must pass all the courses included in the program with 120 AKTS , which is equal to ,at least, an accumulative grade point average of 2.0 out of 4.00
