Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.
6
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to apply for a Master’s Programme in Department of Physiology, candidate must acquire a Bachelor’s degree. In order to acquire Master’s degree, students must complete common, compulsory and selective courses and receive a score of 70 or higher out of 100.
7
Profile of The Programme
Master’s programme constitutes 4 semesters. First two semesters are considered as taught terms and last two semesters are to perform thesis work and write dissertation. Aim of the programme is to train graduates with an insight to contribute to the discipline of Physiology, and to efficiently take place in positions at national and international institutions or be admitted to the doctorate programs.
The Department assigns a supervisor lecturer to each student during taught and thesis stages. The student determines the lectures under supervisor guidance. Subsequent to completing first term, the student and the supervisor choose thesis project and present it to the Institute for approval.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Exams can be written, written and spoken, or applied. Examination documents and results are delivered to institute through department within five working days. Rules for determination of success are as follows; a) In order to attend the exam in graduate programmes; attendance to 70% of theoretical and 80% of applied courses is required. Exams are evaluated as scores up to 100 points and minimum of 70 points is accepted as successful. Equivalents of scores acquired up to 100 points as letter grade or quotients are as follows; AA, 4.00, 90-100; BA, 3.50, 85-89; BB, 3.0, 80-84; CB, 2.50, 75-79; CC, 2.00, 70-74; F, 0-69. b) Students who acquired AA, BA, BB, CB or CC are accepted as successful for the respected course. c) Other letter grades can be used as well, such as: 1) D (Absent); student who did not meet the criteria for attendance, Grade D is transferred to FF in GPA. 2) G (Pass); students who accomplished thesis work or courses without ECTS are graded with G. 3) K (Failed); students who failed at thesis work of courses without ECTS are graded with K. ç) Students who failed exams, attendance criteria or prerequisites of compulsory and selective courses take the respective course again in the first following semester. Student can choose another selective course if he/she failed the one that is chosen for the first time. d) Examination documents and results are delivered to institute through department within five working days. e) Courses that are taken at an international or national programmes like Erasmus or Farabi are adapted into grades and GPA scores after a suggestion of department and an approval of the institute. Course point averages are determined by 1) student’s status of success is calculated as letter grades that are given in Regulations Article 21 and resulted as Average of Points in Semester (YANO) and Average of General Academic Grades (GANO). YANO is the average of points obtained by the student in respected semester. GANO is the average of points obtained by the student in each semester since the admission to the department. 2) YANO and GANO are calculated as general points average. GPA is score of ECTS’ of respected courses multiplied by equivalent quotients of letter grades divided by total ECTS. GPA is given with 2 significant numbers. 3) YANO and GANO are determined by grades obtained by the student from AA to FF. 4) All grades are processed in note card.
