General Description
Our program was established in 2006 under the name of Maritime and Port Management and admitted its first students in 2006. We continue to provide education and training services with a quota of 30 students.

Sea and Port Management Programme, 120 ECTS credits in higher education system and is subject to a 2-year associate degree. When successfully completed the program and program qualifications are met with a degree of Associate Degree shall be in the field of Sea and Port Management.

They are regulated by “Measurment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM)” according to the principles determined by the Higher Education Council (YÖK).

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Sea and Port Management Programme, in order to achieve the degree of short cycle students in the program of required and elective courses (a total of 120 ETCS) and successfully complete all of the courses must be at least 2.0 weighted grade point average of 4.00.

Profile of The Programme
The purpose of Sea and Port Management Programme carrying out by the seaway to the major part of international trade in our country that specializes in the fields of maritime transport and port operations to meet the need for skilled labor. The program provides to students with basic maritime knowledge and port operations both theoretical and practical training courses. Students graduating from the Sea and Port Management Programme operational parts of the maritime industry are having a qualification that could act.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduated students from this program they can work in Turkish and international maritime business, logistics companies, ports, marinas, shipping companies, shipping agents, ship chartering and brokerage firms, forwarder companies like staff and middle-level managers in variety of departments.

Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of Associate Degree education graduates, the Öğrenci Seçme Yerleştirme Merkezi Başkanlığı´nın (ÖSYM), organized by the Dikey Geçiş Sınavı (DGS), provided that they have sufficient points, "School of Maritime Business and Management", "Maritime Transportation and Management Science and Engineering", "The School of Maritime Business and Management "," Logistics Management" and " Business ", such as 4-year undergraduate programs they can make vertical transitions

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each students at the beginning of each semester to register for courses and should be continued for at least 70% of theoretical courses and at least 80% practical courses. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and a final exam for each course. Success score calculated as the contribution of mid-term exam 50% (as the midterm score homework, projects, laboratory exams, quizzes, etc. can be evaluated in the scores obtained from measuring tools) with the contribution of final exam 50%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Final exam are required to obtain at least 30 points. A student has received a letter grade AA, BA, BB, BC, and CC, they are considered successful from that course. DC and DD grades are notes that conditionally successful. DC and DD grade in a course where the student to be successful the general weighted grade point average must be at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
To complete the program successfully pass all the courses available in the program (121 ECTS) and to obtain cumulative grade point average of 4.00 should be at least 2.0.

Three lecturers are working in Gemlik Asım Kocabıyık Vocational School Sea and Port Management Programme and a lot of sector employee that is an expert in the field to support courses. Program has a shipping class, that class has some tools about shipping, safety at sea tools that students´ theoretical knowledge provides like practical in this class. Vocational School is located in ,that holds an important place for logistics and foreign trade for our country and Bursa, 3 km away from Gemlik Free Zone and Gemlik Harbors Region within Uludağ Üniversitesi Sunğipek-Asım Kocabıyık Campuse. Using the advantages of our region we have performed first cooperation between university-industry with Borusan Logistics Gemlik Port Facility and Sea and Port Management Program in Turkey. The provides of the cooperation, first year of the education succeded students goes on in 3th and 4th term of education make train 24 weeks in Borusan Logistics Gemlik Port Facility. In our school a library, a reading room, a canteen, and 212 female students, two student dormitory with a capacity of 192 male students are available.
