General Description
Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine was established in 1970, affiliated with Istanbul University. The name of the faculty on the date of establishment was “Bursa Medical Faculty”. Chest Diseases Hospital, previously owned by the Ministry of Health and Social Aid, was transformed into a Faculty of Medicine hospital in 1974. Education and training started in the same year at the founding dean of Prof. Dr. Fikret Karaca. With the establishment of Bursa University in 1975, it continued its activities as a faculty affiliated to Bursa University and in 1982, the name of the university was changed to Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine, and in 2020 it was renamed Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine. The Faculty´s Basic Medical Sciences department has been serving in Görükle campus since 1985, and the clinics since 1992.
Education period in Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine is 6 years. If the student requests, he / she can benefit from the one-year Foreign Language Preparatory Class. The preparatory class is excluded from the six-year medical education period. The UTEAK-National Medical Education Accreditation Board determined that Bursa Uluda Medical Faculty met the National Undergraduate Standards and was accredited until 01.01.2024 after evaluating the results of our Education-Training Program.
Integrated education model have been started in our faculty since the 2016-2017 academic year. In the education program that progresses from the molecular level to more complex human organism systems, students learn and apply knowledge and skills in the field of medicine in three stages, in an integrated way to support each other in preclinical and clinical fields. Stage 3 defining Period 6 is included in the program as "Family Medicine Period"
This department has 360 ECTS credits first stage degree system in the field of medicine. When the program is completed successfully and the program qualifications are met, the title of Medical Doctor in the field of Medicine is obtained.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma or an equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the University Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS) or meet the required conditions in accordance with the regulations of the Higher Education Council regarding international student admission.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to obtain a bachelor´s degree in medicine, all of the compulsory and elective courses / internships that students must take in the program and other activities such as observation in family medicine outpatient clinics, seizures in the emergency unit, chronic patient home visits, pre-clinical research and presentation and seminars (for a total of 360 ECTS) and their cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

The educational program we offer to our students in line with this vision and mission; Panels, problem-based learning modules, small group trainings, which are applied with both horizontal, vertical and in-depth integration, concurrently taught by disciplines related to medicine and related human sciences, the educational content is created on the basis of course boards or internship programs, It is a program enriched with peer education and simulations and this education-teaching model consists of three stages. Stage 1; In terms 1, 2 and 3, Medical Sciences (horizontal and vertical integration), where mainly basic and clinical medicine disciplines are integrated as bodies on the basis of body organ systems or themes, and Medicine, which prepares students for clinical education and training in terms of medical practices and professional attitudes and behaviors and the Pre-clinical Education-Training process in which Human Sciences (deep integration) courses are given. Stage 2; In semesters 4 and 5, the student gains the ability to use the basic concepts and principles of medicine in the analysis of clinical cases and thus, by analytically evaluating the patients he / she sees, to choose appropriate diagnosis and treatment approaches, to apply clinical skills at a sufficient level, and in addition to all these, the attitude in accordance with professional and ethical values and It includes the Clinical Education-Training process, which includes internship programs that develop the ability to exhibit behavior. Stage 3 includes the Family Medicine process, which continues for 12 months without interruption, in which students who have successfully completed these periods are more actively involved in clinical practice. In the six-year education and training of the Faculty of Medicine, they read theoretically and practically the basic curriculum of basic and clinical sciences in accordance with the Core Education Program and the Uludağ Framework Education Program. Students who fulfill the credit load and other conditions determined at the end of Stages 1 and 2 become Stage 3 Students for a total of 12 months. Those who successfully complete this period receive the title of medical doctor.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Faculty of Medicine graduates receive the right to apply for residency. primary health care institutions of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health, emergency services, pre-hospital emergency medical services at work and health administration. In addition to the above, they can also work in private health institutions and companies after their public service obligation. Graduates who are citizens of other countries are eligible to apply for residency and work within the framework of the laws of their country.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who successfully complete their medical education, if they have sufficient knowledge of foreign languages and pass the special exams (Medical Specialization Exam, Faculty Training Program and Doctorate Program), they transfer to higher degree programs.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In order for the student to take the final exam, he must have attended at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practices. At least 2 (two) midterm exams are held for each yearly scheduled course. Each board final exam is like a midterm exam. At the end of the year, a final exam covering all boards is held. The raw success grade is created with the contribution of 60% of the grade obtained out of 100 full points in the mid-term exam and 40% of the grade obtained out of 100 full points in the final exam, this success grade is converted into a letter grade by applying relative evaluation. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. End of Year Exam Limit (YSSL) and Raw Success Grade Lower Limit (HBAL) is 60. Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC letter grades from a course are considered successful from that course. In the internships in the Block Education Period, all grades with a raw success grade below 60 are given as FF-unsuccessful, grades 60 and above are converted into letter grade by using the fixed grade intervals table. In the Family Practice Period, they must be considered successful by the relevant department. Students who do not take the semester / year-end or make-up exam for a course or who get a grade below the end-of-year exam limit (YSSL) are considered unsuccessful and a direct (FF) grade is given as a success grade.

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully graduate from the Faculty of Medicine, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the first five years (equivalent to 360 ECTS), to achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and to be successful in the family medicine period. Our graduates obtain their graduation diplomas following the approval of the Ministry of Health after completing their two-year compulsory service.

Total within the Faculty of Medicine; There are 180 Professors, 70 Associate Professors, 38 Assistant Professors, 17 Instructor Doctors, 72 Senior Research Assistants and 622 Research Assistants working in 41 Departments and 21 branches. A total of 8617 physicians have graduated from our faculty since its foundation. In the context of postgraduate education, the number of specialist physicians trained in our faculty since its establishment is 2456, 147 of which are minor specialties.
In our faculty, theoretical education is given in 3 big and more than 30 small classrooms. Almost all of these classrooms have all technological facilities such as computers with internet access, projectors, and sound systems.
“USIM-GOOD MEDICINE APPLICATIONS AND SIMULATION CENTER” has taken its place in the new training program with the transition to integrated education. A six-unit standard patient outpatient clinic and a simulation unit containing five wireless advanced technology simulators were established in the center, which includes innovations for free work such as professional skills applications, cyber anatomy, cyber physiology, computer and microscope laboratories and multidisciplinary technology areas. In the simulation unit, the capacity to sample numerous patients / diseases has been created with application areas such as emergency service, patient observation room, delivery room, ultra-sound, training ambulance.
U.Ü. has all kinds of advanced technological facilities where applied trainings are held. There are 885 beds in the Health Application and Research Center. This center was accredited by JCI (Joint Commission International) for 5 years in 2007 and also received the ISO 9001-2000 quality certificate from SGS.
