General Description
Our program was established in the name of “Insurance Programme” in 1992.The program´s name was changed to "Banking and Insurance" under the Department of Finance, Banking, and Insurance, with ISCED code 343, in the 2009-2010 academic year, following an amendment to Law No. 2547. The Banking and Insurance Program is also located within the School of Keles within our university.
This program is a two-year associate degree program in Banking and Insurance, with 120 ECTS credits. Successful completion of the program and achievement of the program requirements will result in an Associate Degree in Banking and Insurance.

Specific Admission Requirements
The applicants have to be graduated from a high school or an equivalent school. The admission and registration essentials are determined by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in accordance with the related legislations of The Council of Higher Education of Turkey.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To earn an associate´s degree in the Banking and Insurance Program, students must successfully complete all required and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS credits) and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. They must also successfully complete a 30-day mandatory Summer Internship.

The Vision of Bursa Uludağ University Social Sciences Vocational School Banking and Insurance Program: To be a preferred program that trains qualified human resources needed by the sector at national and international levels and stands out with its innovative and sustainable education approach.

- To develop individuals who possess fundamental, current, and applied knowledge of the banking and insurance professions, who can follow legal regulations and integrate them with other disciplines.
- To develop experts who are familiar with the procedures and principles regarding policies and contracts, as well as their electronic application.
- To develop professionals who are committed to ethical values ??related to the banking and insurance profession, aware of occupational health and safety, environmental, and quality processes, possess social, scientific, and cultural values, and who can assume responsibility as team members to solve problems encountered in their field.
- To develop individuals who can effectively present their thoughts, at the level of knowledge and skills, through written and oral communication using the Turkish language, who can follow information in their field using a foreign language and communicate with colleagues, and who are aware of career management and lifelong learning.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Banking and Insurance Program can and/or currently work in the headquarters, regional offices, and branches of public and private banks, as well as brokerage firms, leasing, and factoring firms operating in the money and capital markets; in the headquarters and regional offices of all insurance companies, including those within the Private Pension System; in insurance agencies and insurance brokerage offices; and in insurance appraisal offices, the claims-taking arm of the insurance industry. They can also open their own insurance and appraisal offices, provided they meet the legal requirements.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates who have successfully completed their associate degree education can transfer to universities´ undergraduate programs in Actuarial Sciences, Actuarial and Risk Management, Banking, Banking and Finance, Banking and Insurance, Econometrics, Economics, Economics and Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Business Administration, Business Administration-Economics, Logistics Management, Capital Markets, Capital Markets and Portfolio Management, Insurance, Insurance and Risk Management, Insurance and Social Security, International Finance, International Finance and Banking, International Business, International Business and Trade, International Trade, International Trade and Finance, International Trade and Business, International Trade and Logistics, International Trade and Logistics Management, provided that they have the sufficient score in the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) organized by ÖSYM.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student registered at the beginneing of the semester should attend %80 of the theoretical and % 70 of the practical lessons in order to have the opportunity to take the necessary tests. Each student should have at least one mid-term an one final exam. Mid-term (can also include homework, quiz etc.) has the weight of %40, and final exam has the %60 fotr the over all %100 success. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Each student must have at least 50 points at the final exam. For a student to be successful, s/he must get at least an average of 50 points. A student who gets an AA, BA, BB, CB and CC will be successful. DC and DD are contitional success grades. Students who get DC or DD should have at least a GPA of 2.00.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the program students must have at least 2,00 GPA out of 4,00 and 120 ECTS. In addition, students should successfully complete the summer internship. The duration of internship is at least 30 days.

There are five lecturers at the programme. Besides these, there are other lecturers from other programmes of the vocational school who asist the programme. There are 35 lecturers at the vocational school.
The lessons are performed at the classes where projects and smart boards are installed. Students can also take advantage of using the library, conference rooms and the computer lab. During the education, the programme organizes seminers and conferance given by experts.
