Specific Admission Requirements
Students must have the high school or equivalent school diploma and take enough score from the University student selection examination.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students should complete all courses (optional and compulsory courses) successfully and the average grade must be 2.0 out of 4 in order to obtain associate’s degree

Profile of The Programme
Training the qualified personnel with lifelong learning skill who can set up AC&R systems according to the project and standard, make service and maintenance, control the workflow and cost, and make business planning, comprehend the professional ethical responsibility, follow the development of the profession.

Key Learning Outcomes & Classified & Comparative
1.
Comprehend the basic concepts about applications of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Identify the main and auxiliary components using in these systems and explain their functions.

Identify the tools and devices using in the AC&R applications and achieve dexterity to install these systems (e.g. welding, pipe cutting, pipe bending, countersink etc.) within framework of work safety rules. During the accident, have the information about first aid

3.
Comprehend the Project related to AC&R systems, draw with hand and computer aided all component’s sights using in these systems.

4.
Identify the components and circuits of electrical command and automatic control systems and connect these systems.
|
5.
Calculate the heat loads and select the proper devices to be mainly the selection of the AC&R and heating systems.
|
6.
Size and install the duct system for ventilating and air conditioning systems using duct.
|
7.
Install the AC&R systems (residential and commercial refrigerators, cold storage, individual and central AC systems etc.), diagnose the failure and repair, make preventive maintenance.

8.
Gain ability to preparation and presentation reports of scientific research and ability to make events about his professional.
|
9.
Be equipped with the information about quality management systems and environment.
|
10.
Comprehend the professional and ethical responsibility and study within a team of different disciplines and/or make leadership.

11.
Use the Turkish language effectively for written and verbal communication, have foreign language to follow the developments about his professional and communicate.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Employ in all private sector and public corporations which serving or receiving service, manufacture related to AC&R. For example: in the AC&R services, cold storage and in the companies that manufacture and install the cold storage, in the companies that manufacture and install duct systems, in the AC&R project design office, in the factory, in the shopping centers, in the business centers, in the hotels, etc.

Access to Further Studies
The students who has completed associate degree, if they pass the DGS (Vertical transition ) exam, they can continue the Mechanical Engineering or plumbing teacher department

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Every student should enroll to get courses at the beginning of the term and have to attend 80% of theoretical lessons and 70% of lab. lessons. Each student should take an intermediate examination and a final examination at least. Each exam has a contribution of 50%. Full assessment grade is 100. Minimum grade of 30 out of 100 in is essential in the final examination. Those of students who get AA, BA, BB, CB, CC grades are considered to be successful in that lesson. Grade of DC and DD are being considered as successful depend on condition. For those of lessons which are graded as DD, DC could be considered as successful in case of overall grade is 2.0

Graduation Requirements
Students should complete all courses (optional and compulsory) successfully and the average grade must be 2.0 out of 4 in order to obtain associate’s degree.

Prof. and 1 expert are employed in this program and there are 1 laboratory where the practical courses are practiced and 1 classroom where the theoretical courses are carried out. There are 12 experimental facility related to AC&R systems to assist comprehending the working principles of AC&R systems for helping students. Besides, there are 1 cold storage and various individual air conditioning units.
