Brief History
Uludag University Vocational School of Technical Sciences, Department of Electricity and Energy, Natural Gas and Installation Technology Program, started in educational activities in 1993 and has trained many Gas Technician who meet the demand of intermediate staff in the gas and installation sector since then.

These requirements are determined by the regulations of The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in accordance with ÖSYM which is the student selection and placement center in TURKEY

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Profile of The Programme
Purpose of the Natural Gas and Installation Technology Program is to meet the demand of technician for rapidly developing natural gas sector. Gas and Installation Technology Program aims to train intermediate technical personnel who knows natural gas, heating and sanitary systems and working principles of gas appliances. So, they are able to work for choosing, establishing and operating, troubleshooting and protective maintenance for natural gas appliances and gas distribution systems. They are able to draw through computer and to make the various installation projects suitable to related standards, make the business plan and to make apply to working team. They have theoretical knowledge together with practical experience, ability to follow modern and advanced technologies, and are able to link between engineer and workers.

Key Learning Outcomes & Classified & Comparative
1. Have knowledge, skills required about math, technical sciences and gas installation technologies.
2. Understand problems and their solutions in the application of advanced technologies related with gas and installation.
3. Use actual technics and tools at the field of gas and installation technology by additional technical training.
4. Use technical drawing ability effectively in the application for gas and installation technology, draw by computer and communicate through this way.
5. Do effectively description, collection and use data, which are necessary to solve the natural gas heating and plumbing system’s problems.
6. Work initially or as a team members. Evaluate and supervise objectively performance of people working under his responsibility.
7. Have consciousness to necessity of lifelong learning.
8. Know standards and specifications related with natural gas, heating and plumbing projects.
9. Use data information and communication technologies, required at least by his professional field at European Basic Level for Computer Operator.
10. Communicate effectively by conversation and writing; use a foreign language at level A2 according to European Language Portfolio.
11. Make operation, testing and maintenance / repair tasks within a specific period in accordance with relevant standards for natural gas network lines construction.
12. Have awareness about the legal consequences and professional ethics for technological applications. Apply technical safety, occupational health and safety rules.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of Natural Gas and Installation Technology Program are employed in natural gas sector, the goods / service-producing companies, industrial companies that produce heating and flue systems, natural gas distribution companies and heating centers. In addition, graduates may be employed in many different positions according to the needs for technical staff of the energy sector because of its wide-ranging program properties.

Access to Further Studies
May apply to bachelor´s programs in related fields of study provided that the student obtains sufficient score in the Vertical Transfer Examination(DGS) administered by the Student Selection Centre or may apply to bachelor´s degree completion program in related fields of study in Distance Education System.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Before the start of each semester, students must register for their courses and in order to admit to the final examinations they must be continued for at least 70% of courses and 80% of practical applications. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam. The course instructor assigns a grade of between 0 and 100 for each course taken by a student and this grade is known as the raw score. Passing grade will be calculated by adding 50% of the midterm exam (written exam, project, homework, laboratory exams, quizzes, etc. ) to 50% of the final exam and final grade must be at least 30 points. Total raw cumulative point must be 40 out of 100. A student who has received any of the AA, BA, BB, CB, CC letter grade is considered as successful in that course. DD and DC are probation passing grades. Students must have a GPA of over 2 to be successful from any course received DD or DC letter grade. Graduation Requirements
Natural Gas and Installation Technology Program, completing all compulsory and elective courses with 120 ECTS / ECTS credits, having at least 2.0 out of 4.0 rather than general weighted average, and internship program "U.Ü. Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulation" and "Uludağ University Vocational Schools Internship According to the directive, students who have successfully completed this program can graduate by obtaining an associate degree.

Facilities
Four instructors carrying out education activities on Program. Gas appliances and installation workshop is used for practical courses and computer class is used project and design courses. Students in the workshop do the practical experiments about gas appliances and operating principles. In addition, the basic plumbing operations related to gas, heating and plumbing made in the workshop too. There is a computer class for gas network design and other computerized applications in domestic gas installation projects, drawings and calculations.
