General Description
Uludag University Law Faculty was founded on 4 July 1995 with the Cabinet’s Resolution no. 95/7044, promulgated in the Official Gazette no. 22350 on 21 July 1995. Between 1995 and 2007 preparatory work for the Faculty was undertaken. Upon the appointment of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Genç as the founder dean, the first students were admitted in the academic year of 2007-2008.

Specific Admission Requirements
Successful attainment of a high school diploma and achievement of the necessary score in the Central Higher Education Student Placement Exam is required.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Profile of The Programme
Uludağ University Law Faculty seeks to provide a sound legal education; thereby enables its students to appreciate the value of human dignity and the supremacy of the rule of law. In addition to compulsory and elective courses on the core areas of Turkish law, thanks to its curriculum including a wide range of courses in European and international law, international relations, economic and public finance, the Faculty prepares its students for various selection exams for positions in judiciary, public administration and in the private sector. With the Master of Laws (LL.M) programme in public law, postgraduate students at Uludag have the opportunity to broaden and deepen their knowledge and to pursue an academic career.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of Uludag University may become lawyers, judges, prosecutors; they may choose to work in the public administration and diplomacy or work in various branches of the public sector and pursue an academic career alike.

Access to Further Studies
After obtaining a degree in law, students may apply for postgraduate studies on the condition that they receive a required score from the Central Exam for Postgraduate Studies (ALES) and possess a sufficient level of foreign language proficiency.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
At the beginning of the each semester students must register. In order to undertake exams students should attend 70 % of classes. They are required to undertake one mid-term and one final exam. The final result is made up of 50 % of the mid-term and 50 % of the final exam. The grades for all exams are out of 100 points, whereby students who have attained AA, BA, BB, CB and CC are deemed successful. DC and DD can only be considered successful if the students’ GPA (Grade Point Average) is a minimum of 2.0.

Currently, at Uludag Law Faculty five professors, twenty one associate professors, one lecturer, thirty four research assistants work full-time. The Department is made up of the Chairs of Constitutional Law, European Union Law, Crime and Criminal Procedure Law, General Public Law, Philosophy and Sociology of Law, History of Law, Administrative Law, International Private Law, Employment and Social Security Law, Roman Law, Tax and Fiscal Law and Commercial Law. In addition to a wide range of optional courses, at the Faculty, legal English is also taught. The Faculty initiated the LL.M programme in public law in the academic year of 2008-2009.
