General Description
Graduate Program in Art History Department has been established in 2016. Turkish and Islamic Arts, Western Art and Contemporary Art, and Byzantine Art are the topics of the program.

Specific Admission Requirements
1- Undergraduate degree from Art History
2- Eligble score from the Graduate Entry Examination (ALES)
50% of ALES + 25% of academic success in the undergraduate programme + 25% of interview grade: The candidates are ranged according to their total score after the evaluation and they are accepted according to starting with the highest score.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students must take min. 90 ETCS credit. Students should take courses minimum 21 maximum 28 credits. Students should succeed from all the courses. Students should get 70 over 100. Students should defend their thesis in front of a selected jury. Master of arts degree in Art History will be granted to the successful students.

Profile of The Programme
The department program focuses on Anatolian civilization created through the ages, by examining, evaluating and dating the art works.Not only architectural features, ornaments and handicrafts of the sacral and profane buildings which forms the materiel culture of Anatolia are analyzed but also the works from the European and contemporary art are presented.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Students who have completed their master’s degree can work in research position for further academic degrees. They can also take positions in art galleries as well as become expert state museums, in Ministry of Culture, various institutions and foundations for preservation of cultural heritage, if they pass required exams.

Access to Further Studies
Graduates are admitted to PhD study if they apply and pass the interview.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
For the term registration and taking the exams students must attend at least 70 % of each course. The students must take at least one exam for each course. It is required to score at least 70 of 100 points for successful completing, indicated by the letter notes AA, BA, BB, CB and CC.

Graduation Requirements
In order to complete the program successfully, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (90-120 ECTS credits) and successfully complete the thesis.
