General Description

Brief History
Uludag University School of Health started to give bachelors degree starting with "Nursing Program" in 1996 followed by "Health Officer Program" in 1998. According to decision of Higher Education Committee (YOK) both of these programs were integrated under the name of "Nursing Program" in 2008 and became Faculty of Health Sciences in 2016.

Qualification Awarded
This program is a first level degree system which provides 240 ECTS credits in Nursing Sciences in higher education. After completing the program successfully and achieve the qualifications required graduates receive Bachelors´ Degree in Nursing Science

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates should have High School diploma or equivalent level diploma and obtain required score form University Entrance Exam in order to be accepted to this program. A student who started his/her education in equivalent program locally can do horizontal transition to another equivalent program according to policies and principles determined by Higher Education Committee (YOK). (http://www.yok.gov.tr)

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To obtain a Bachelors´ Degree in Nursing Science, students should complete both mandatory and elective courses (240 ECTS) successfully and their Average General Score (GANO) should be at least 2.00 out of 4.00

Professional member who gives nursing care according to universal values, country realities and requirements, protects and develops the health of both family and community, provides nursing care whenever health status of the individual or family deteriorates, and adopts lifelong learning process

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Nurses work both in government and private facilities Nurses obtain positions in government and private hospitals, Schools of Health, Nursing Colleges and Health Science Faculties, in family and community health organizations, in workplace health units, in schools, facilities involve in care of aged people and in daycare centers.

Access to Further Studies
Masters and PhD programs have been opened in the field of nursing. additionally, there is a graduate program in Nursing which is conducted in a collaboration with Balıkesir University. Candidates who complete the undergraduate education successfully, who pass the ALES exam and have adequate level of foreign language can continue to their education either in other universities’ graduate programs or in our university.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student should be registered to all courses provided each semester. For student being able enter the final exams, he /she required to continue at least 70% of the theoretical classes and 80% of the practical courses. Students´ success is evaluated by one midterm and one final exam at least. Midterm exam affects 40% (scores obtained from projects, laboratory exams, quizzes can be used as a midterm exam score) final exam affects 60% of the total scores for each course. Each exam is evaluated out of 100 points. It is a requirement to obtain at least 40 points in order to be successful. Students who receive one of the AA, BA, BB, CB and CC grades were evaluated as successful from the courses they took. DC and DD grades are conditional successful grades. In order to evaluate student a successful his/her GANO should be at least 2.00 out of 4.00

Graduation Requirements
To finish the program successfully students should pass all the required courses (240 ECTS) and their Average General Score (GANO) should be at least 2.00 out of 4.00

Facilities
Faculty of Health Sciences continues the educational activities in a building shared with Vocational Health School in 2.225 m 2 area which is located in Gorukle Campus. In main building there is one anatomy laboratory, one technical classroom, one computer laboratory and eight classrooms. Five of the classrooms are in use collectively with vocational Health School.
One professor, two associate professor, four assistant professor, three lecturers with PhD degrees, seven lecturer with graduate degree, three research assistant a total of 19 academic staff employed in Faculty of Health Sciences.
Courses related to nursing profession and their clinical practices are carried on by academic staff employed in Faculty of Health Sciences. Basic Medical Courses are thought by academic staffs that are employed in other disciplines.
Clinical practices are done in Uludağ University Medical Hospital´s clinics, in clinics of other government hospitals, community health services, facilities involve in care of aged people and other health care facilities
