Additive Manufacturing Master's Program with Thesis
General Description
Interdisciplinary Additive Manufacturing Master´s Program was opened in the Fall Semester of 2021-2022 and started education. The program has been created with an interdisciplinary content. It is the first graduate program in this field in Turkey. In addition to the core courses in Additive Manufacturing, it also includes courses in Optical and Photonics, Biomaterials, Automotive Engineering, Polymer Materials and Surface Treatment and Technologies Master´s programs.
When the Additive Manufacturing Master´s program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are met, a Master´s degree in Additive Manufacturing is obtained.

Specific Admission Requirements
In order to apply for the master´s program, candidates must have ALES or an equivalent score determined by the Senate, not less than 55 (fifty-five) points from the ALES or equivalent exam. Foreign language scores are not required for Master´s applications, but candidates with equal scores will be preferred with a higher English score. The program is an interdisciplinary program. Students can be accepted from Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and Materials Engineering programs.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
A total of at least 120 ECTS, including a seminar course and a thesis work, which is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic term, from the courses available in the graduate programs of the Department or other related Departments, and the thesis prepared in front of a jury composed of faculty members. Students who defend successfully are awarded a master´s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In order to be successful in courses excluding seminars, a weighted grade point average of at least 70 out of 100 must be obtained. In order for the student to graduate, it is also obligatory to fulfill the publication or scientific activity condition determined by the Senate decision.

Profile of The Programme
Additive Manufacturing master´s program is an interdisciplinary program. There are 6 faculty members working in different departments in its academic staff. Apart from the academic staff of the Additive Manufacturing Master´s program, faculty members give lectures and receive student counseling.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Students who will graduate from the Additive Manufacturing Master´s program will have the opportunity to work in companies operating in the Machinery, Automotive, Aerospace, Defense and Medical sectors.

Access to Further Studies
Candidates who successfully complete their master´s education can study in doctoral programs if they meet the application and registration requirements for doctoral programs.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Bursa Uludag University Postgraduate Education Regulation is applied.

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the Additive Manufacturing Master´s program, not less than 120 ECTS credits, at least eight compulsory and elective courses and a seminar course, a specialization course to be taken each semester, and a thesis work are required.

Courses are held in 18 classrooms that are shared with the Mechanical Engineering Department. These classes have the necessary features for a contemporary engineering education. All of these classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and projectors. There are 9 laboratories used for education and research activities in the department. These laboratories are listed below:
