Brief History
Uludag University İznik Vocational School of Handicraft Planning Ceramics and Glass Desing Program has been rendering education since 2020-2021 academic year.

Qualification Awarded
Upon successfully completing the 120-ACTS credit program and acquiring the program qualifications, the students graduate with Ceramics and Glass Desing

Specific Admission Requirements
The applicant should have a high school or its equivalent diploma and the other requirements are determined by OSYM ( Student Selection and Placement Center ) in accordance with the applicable legislation of YOK (Higher Education Council)

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to be able to receive an Associate Degree in Ceramics and Glass Desing Program, it is required to successfully complete all the compulsory and elective courses a student should have (a total of 120 ACTS) and to have at least 2.00 GPA (grade point average) over 4.00

Profile of The Programme
Ceramics and Glass Desing program is to teach students as responding to the needs of the companies in ceramic industry, having theoretical and pratical knowledge and analytic study ability, and being enterprising.
Program provides a two-year training following high school education. Formal Program accept 25 students. The students are also required to complete a 30-work day internship program. The students are required to take and successfully complete all the compulsory courses in the program. They are also required to take and successfully complete elective courses in II., III., and IV. Semesters as well as compulsory courses.

1. To gain the ability to use computer software and hardware at the basic level required by the field.
2. To be able to choose and use the modern techniques, tools and information technologies required for the applications related to the field.
3. To carry out a research or application project in which she can show her professional skills by knowing the design elements and principles.
4. To have a command of effective communication techniques and a foreign language knowledge to follow the innovations in the field.
5. To have occupational safety, worker health, environmental protection knowledge and quality awareness.
6. To gain the applied knowledge of designing a model related to the field, taking the shaping mold and producing in series.
7. Having the ability to prepare patterns, draw motifs and decorate in accordance with the form and technique required by the profession.
8. Technical drawing, computer-aided drawing, designing using programs and using various software to make basic dimensioning calculations, to draw professional plans and projects.
9. Respecting historical values, social responsibility, universal, social and professional ethics awareness.
10. To know basic art and basic design, theoretical and applied principles. Defining the problems, creating solutions by interpreting the surrounding objects and artworks within the scope of observation and analysis. Making criticism. To uphold ethical values, to make a correct transfer in his field. Interdisciplinary thinking, defining the target audience, establishing relationships.
11. To master the motifs, patterns and composition rules used in traditional and industrial decorative arts and to apply them to various forms and surfaces.
12. To have knowledge about the materials and technical infrastructure used in ceramic and glass making.
13. To have knowledge and experience about the operation and use of tools, machinery and equipment used in ceramic and glass production.
14. To have knowledge and skills about other traditional arts that show similar features outside of their field.
15. Be able to create mathematical models of professional problems.

The graduates who successfully complete their associate training have the opportunity to apply to related undergraduate programs on condition that they acquire a sufficient mark from External Transfer executed by OSYM( Student Selection and Placement Center)

Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS), to obtain a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 and to complete a 30-work-day internship.
