Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Exam of the courses; It can be done in written, written-oral or applied form. In order to take the exam from the courses taken in graduate programs; 70% attendance is required for theoretical courses and 80% for applied courses. Exams are evaluated with points given out of 100. In order to be successful, a minimum of 70 out of 100 in thesis and non-thesis master´s programs; In doctoral and arts proficiency programs, it is required to get at least 75 points out of 100. - In the evaluation of the scores obtained out of 100 within the framework of the above principles with letter grades; Grades AA, BA, BB, CB and CC in graduate and scientific preparation programs; In the doctoral program, a student who gets AA, BA, BB and CB grades is considered successful in that course. - In graduate programs; Students who fail the exam of any course can take the exams to be held at the end of the semester, even if that course is not offered in the following semester. The student who fails in this exam, fails due to absenteeism or does not fulfill the prerequisites of the relevant course repeats the course in the semester it is opened. If the course is not opened or has been removed from the program, an equivalent course is determined in place of that course with the recommendation of the head of the relevant department / department and the decision of the board of directors. In this case, the student becomes responsible for the equivalent course instead of the course he has to repeat after failing. - The adjustment of the grades of the courses taken by students who benefit from national or international exchange programs such as Erasmus and Farabi is made by the decision of the institute board of directors with the proposal of the head of the department / department. These grades are recorded on the transcript of the student. - At the end of each semester, the academic grade point average (YANO) and the general academic grade average (GANO) are determined by calculating the coefficients given in the table in article 22 of the relevant regulation. YANO is the weighted grade point average of the semester the student is enrolled. GANO is the weighted grade average calculated at the end of the semester by taking into account all the courses in the curriculum of the department / department in which the student is enrolled, starting from the graduate program. - Calculated with YANO and GANO weighted grade averages. The weighted grade point average is calculated by dividing the total credits obtained by multiplying the credits of the courses taken and the equivalent weight coefficients of the letter grades from the courses by the total credits. The weighted grade average is calculated as two digits after the comma. - Both YANO and GANO are determined by taking the grades (AA) to (FF) that the student takes from credit courses into the assessment. - All grades received by the student are recorded in the grade book.
