Brief History
Education and research in Immunology has a 30-year history at the Uludağ University. The MSc Program in Immunology at Uludağ University developed in2015. The MSc Program in Immunology now has one student.
The Immunology Program at Uludağ University Institute of Medical Sciences became the model of an integrated educational program in a growing discipline that now spans several of the classical fields of medical biology (microbiology, genetics, pathology, clinical medicine, biochemistry, etc.). It is noteworthy that students are combining a strong training in immunobiology with the basic aspects of biology.
2
Qualification Awarded
The department offers the second cycles of higher education in terms of ECTS credits (90-120 credits, awarding a Master´s degree). After the successful completion of the program and fulfillment of requirements, a master’s degree in Immunology is awarded.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Regulations of Institute for Qualification Requirements published in Institute web page (http://saglikbilimleri.uludag.edu.tr/en/) are valid for Immunology MSc program. Briefly, a student may take courses consisted of compulsory and elective lectures. The MSc students are required to take the Qualifying Examination, after having successfully completed taught courses. The examination consists of written and oral parts. Students must register for thesis work and the Specialization Field course offered by his supervisor every semester following the semester, in which the supervisor is appointed. Periodic monitoring of research work by a thesis monitoring committee is required to be awarded the MSc. A student who has completed work on the thesis within the time period, must write a thesis, using the data collected, according to the specifications of the Instiute of Health Sciences Writing Guide. The thesis must be defended in front of a thesis jury. A majority vote by the jury members determines the outcome of the thesis or examination. The vote can be for "acceptance", "rejection" or "correction". A student may be given, by a decision of the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School, up to six months to complete the corrections. The student must then retake the thesis examination.

Profile of The Programme
Immunology MSc Program aims to have students better equipped about basic, molecular and clinical immunology and applications of these. This program includes 4 compulsory and 10 elective courses which consist of advanced immunology topics and students can choose courses from other programs. Our program combines in basic biology, a advanced education in immunology, and exposure to the immunological and non-immunological problems of disease. The major goal of this program is to train scientists in investigative and academic medicine, preparing them to contribute to immunological research with a full awareness of the potential impact of immunology.

Key Learning Outcomes & Classified & Comparative
1. Develop and deepen the current and advanced knowledge in immunology with original thought and/or research and come up with innovative definitions; Evaluate and use new information in a systematic approach independently and by using high level mental processes, such as creative and critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, in order to develop new ideas and methods in immunology.
2. Conceive the interdisciplinary interaction which immunology is related with ; come up with original solutions by using knowledge requiring proficiency on analysis, synthesis and assessment of new and complex ideas; Demonstrate leadership in contexts requiring innovative and interdisciplinary problem solving.
3. Comprehend the principles of frequently used techniques (including statistical methods) in immunology, develop and apply them in researches.
4. Develop an innovative knowledge, method, design and/or practice to immunology field or adapt an already known knowledge, method, design and/or practice to another field; research, conceive, design, adapt and implement an original subject, independently.
5. Contribute to the solution finding process regarding social, scientific, cultural and ethical problems in immunology field and support the development of these values.
6. Defend original views when exchanging ideas in immunology field with professionals and communicate effectively by showing competence in immunology.
7. Investigate and improve social connections and their conducting norms and manage the actions to change them when necessary.
9
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
MSc degree students generally continue their career in academia after doing PhD. They might also work in Research Centers of universities, R&D departments of industry and hospital. All of our three graduates carry on their carrier in academia.
10
Access to Further Studies
The entrance into PhD studies is possible for candidates who have successfully earned a Master´s degree, and can provide ALES with a passing grade and meet foreign language qualifications.
11
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The exams of the courses can be done written, written-oral or applied. In order to take the tests of the postgraduate programs, the attendance of the courses is required to be at least 70% or 80%. The exams are evaluated by over 100 points awarded. To be successful, at master with thesis program, it is required to get at least 70 points out of 100 points. Within the frame of the principals mentioned above, to evaluate the points as letter grades; getting AA, BA, BB, CB and CC at master degree and scientific preparation programs are considered successful at the courses. At postgraduate programs, a student failed at any course can take the exams at the end of the semester even if the course is not opened up the following semester. The student failed at this exam on the ground of absence or not carrying out the preconditions of the lesson repeats the lesson when it is opened up. If the lesson is subtracted or not opened up, an equivalent lesson to it is determined by the suggestion of the concerned head of department and by the decision of the board. Under these circumstances, the student is responsible of the equivalent lesson instead of the lesson that s/he needs to repeat. The adjustment of the grades of the students who practice upon the national or international student Exchange programs like Erasmus and Farabi are executed by the decision of the board and the decision by the institution directory. These grades are recorded to the academic transcript. The academic standing of the student is determined at the end of every semester on the term grade point averages and general grade point averages that is calculated on the coefficients given as the letter grades according to the concerned regulations. Term grade point averages and general grade point averages are calculated by the grade point averages. Grade point average (GPA) is calculated by the division of the total credits to the total out of the multiplication of the course credits and letter grades’s equivalents. GPA is calculated as two digits after the comma. Both term grade point average and general grade point average are determined by the grades of the courses from AA to FF. All of the grades are recorded to the academic transcript.
12
Graduation Requirements
Master with thesis program is formed by seven courses providing that they are not less than 21 credits and more than 28 credits, one seminar at course and dissertation stage, thesis study and thesis exam. Despite not needing scientific preparation program, the student can take up graduation level courses if the supervisor thinks it is needed, and these courses’ credits will not be counted.
