Brief History
Science Education Doctorate Program; It is a doctoral program opened in the 2013-2014 academic year, under the Institute of Educational Sciences, in order to renew and improve its teaching according to universal standards and the needs of the age. With its distinguished faculty staff, our program aims to provide students who want to develop themselves in the teaching profession or become researchers in the academic field, to make independent research, to interpret scientific events with a broad and deep perspective and to gain an understanding of science with the ability to reach new syntheses, professional knowledge, skills and competencies. It aims to acquire.

Qualification Awarded
Students who meet the conditions specified in the Qualification Requirements and Rules section are awarded a doctorate degree in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education Science Education Department.

Specific Admission Requirements
1-To have a master´s degree, 2-To have the score specified in the advertisement in the type of numerical score from the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES), 3-Those who meet the foreign language proficiency requirement specified in the advertisement can apply to the Science Education Doctorate Program. Candidates applying to the program are ranked according to the weighted total scores of ALES (50%) + graduate graduation average (20%) + written / interview (30%) scores, and students are admitted to the program according to the quota, starting from the candidate with the highest score. In addition, a minimum graduation grade of 2.25 (59.16 in the 100 grade system) is not required for candidates who have served in the public or private sector for at least 10 years (if they submit) a graduation grade of 2.25.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
a) Students who are accepted to the doctorate program with a master´s degree with thesis must be successful at least 240 ECTS in order to graduate. This credit load must be at least eight courses and seminars during the course, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS for an academic year; The remaining load must be provided from the seminar, proficiency exam and thesis work after the course phase. b) Students are required to successfully complete the courses with 75 points out of 100, successfully pass the qualifying exam and successfully defend their thesis in front of an elected jury. c) In order for the student to graduate, it is also required to fulfill the publication or scientific activity requirement determined by the decision of the Senate.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the doctorate program of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education Science Education Department is; To raise expert individuals who have the knowledge, skills, attitudes and experience to conduct education, training and high-level research in the field of Science, who can think critically, have high self-confidence and have the competencies to follow the innovations in their field on a national and international scale.
Goals
1. Producing permanent solutions with new approaches for current problems or unforeseen complex situations during science education applications and
2. To train well-trained and well-equipped science teachers and lecturers at national and international level.
3. To become an effective department at national and international level with a strong academic staff, completed physical infrastructure.
4. To create an education and training environment where professional knowledge is constantly updated according to the needs of the period.
5. To ensure that the courses conducted at the postgraduate level comply with the developments in the national and international literature.

Key Learning Outcomes & Classified & Comparative
1. To gain all the knowledge in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Math fields, to improve theoretical and practical skills in the proficiency level, and to produce new knowledge by combining the findings in various fields.
2. To be able to practice and provide solutions to the problems which require expertise in the field of science and technology by using the quantitative and qualitative research methods, to work independently and to take responsibility.
3. To be able to develop new approaches to unexpected complicated problems, design methods and take part in teamwork.
4. To be able to make critical evaluations of the knowledge in science and technology field to control and lead the learning and to acquire life-long learning skills.
5. To share their knowledge and findings in the field of science and technology in the form of oral or written presentations in national and international conferences, make discussion about these studies, to evaluate the current developments within the country’s realities, to develop strategies, policies and practicing programs in their interest subjects and to evaluate their results from quality process perspective.
6. To be able to critically evaluate the knowledge acquired in the fields of Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Science Education, to determine the needs, to try to evaluate his life-long learning, to follow the developments and to use technology effectively to achieve the current changes in the field.
7. To have the knowledge about evaluating the reliability and validity of the information of Science and Technology through the nature, the source and the limits of the field.
8. To discuss information, production and methods related to Science and Technology practices.
9. To know and apply the teaching programs and measurement and assessment techniques and practice used in the field.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates continue their professional careers as researchers, head teachers and consultants in public or private institutions and organizations or as teaching staff if they meet the conditions foreseen in the Science Education programs affiliated to the relevant or other universities.

Access to Further Studies
Students who have completed their doctorate program can apply for post-doctoral programs abroad.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practices in order to register for the courses at the beginning of the term and to enter the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. In addition, in order for the students to be considered successful in a course, they must get at least 75 (CB) in the doctorate as a success grade from that course. Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC letter grades from a course are considered successful in that course.

Graduation Requirements
Having succeeded in compulsory and elective courses, seminar course, proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialization course and thesis work, getting a letter grade of at least CB (75) or above from all the courses taken, and the thesis proposal prepared for the subject and the graduation thesis selected he must defend successfully before a jury.

Facilities
Education and training activities in Science Education Subdivision are carried out in technically equipped classrooms and laboratories. There are 2 Science Laboratories in our department. In these laboratories, microscope, stereo microscope, oven, dryer, centrifuge, desiccator, oven, various animal and human models and implants, plant models, animal and plant collections, chemical and glass materials, refrigerators, experiment sets and other instruments on physics. supplies are available. A large number of computers and printers, smart boards, etc., which have been made available to the faculty members of the Department of Science Teaching and their assistants. It is used for educational and academic activities.
In the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, there are classrooms, laboratories and also rooms with internet and computers open to the use of graduate students. These rooms are kept ready for students´ use outside of class hours.
Our university´s central library is rich in periodicals and online databases. Bursa Uludağ University Central Library and Education Faculty Library are actively used by our students.
