Brief History
Mennan Pasinli Equestrian Vocational High School has been founded in 1999. Equitation and Horse Training Program at this school started with education in the academic year 2013-2014.

Qualification Awarded
Equitation and Horse Training program belongs to the field of animal and plant production and consists of two years of pre-Bsc with 120 hours of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). When the program is successfully completed and the program requirements are met, students can obtain a pre-Bsc degree.

Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and have enough points in YGS 6 (Exam for Entrance to Higher Education). Alternatively candidates can enroll without exam if they graduate from high schools providing vocational education related to their branches. The students will have to present a health report certifying their physical and psychological health. During vocational training in the stable students have to wear overalls, sweat shirts, boots, caps, masks and gloves. Outside the barn they have to use riding breeches, riding boots, gloves and protective clothing such as vests during the training and education in the manege. Supply of this equipment belongs to the student.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to get pre-Bsc degree from the Equitation and Horse Training Program, all compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to 120 ECTS) must be successfully passed. The cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.0 out of 4.00.)

The mission of Equitation and Horse Training program is to train technical personnel and provide theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of horsemanship.

Key Learning Outcomes
1. To have general knowledge about horses and horse breeding and to be able to use them in the work field.
2. To have knowledge about occupational health and safety, environmental awareness and quality processes.
3. To be able to follow current developments and applications for Horse Training and use them effectively.
4. To be able to use information technologies (software, programs, etc.) related to Horse Training effectively.
5. To have the ability to independently evaluate problems and issues related to Horse Training with an analytical and critical approach and to offer solutions.
6. To be able to effectively present and express thoughts in a clear manner through written and verbal communication using the Turkish language, at the level of knowledge and skills related to Horse Breeding and Horse Training.
7. To be able to take responsibility as a team member to solve complex and/or unforeseen problems encountered in the field of Horse Breeding and Horse Training.
8. To have awareness of career management and lifelong learning.
9. To have social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the collection, application and announcement of the results of data related to the field of Horse Breeding and Horse Training.
10. Being able to follow information in the field and communicate with colleagues using a foreign language.
11. To be able to apply measurements related to reproduction, care and feeding techniques in horse breeding, biosecurity within the scope of disease and pest control, and protection from epidemic, contagious and zoonotic diseases in horse breeding under the responsibility of a veterinarian.
12. To be able to understand, explain and apply the legislation, competition and racing rules and general provisions related to horse breeding.
13. To be able to prepare horses and riders appropriately for races/competitions
14. To have knowledge about the management and organization of horse breeding enterprises and to be able to explain the processes about tourism activities in horse breeding.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates from the Equitation and Horse Training program can be employed at the hippodromes and stud farms of the Turkish Jockey Club, at the Equine departments of the state agricultural establishments, at Riding Clubs, at Animal Hospitals of the Veterinary Faculties, private stud farms, and at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must have attended at least 70 % of the lessons and 80 % of the practice so that they can enter final exams. Students must have for each school subject at least 1 mid-term exam and final exam. Mid-term exam has an influence of 50 % and 50 % of final exam to calculate the final grade. (Mid-term exam grade can be calculated through the points of homework, lab exam, quiz, etc..).All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. Students must have at least 30 points out of 100 at mid-term final exam. Students are considered successful when they get AA, BA, BB, CB, and CC from the exams. DC and DD are considered conditionally successful grade. A student must have ,at least, an accumulative grade point average of 2.0 to be considered successful at a subject of which they get DC and DD grades.

Graduation Requirements
For graduation students must pass successfully all courses included in the program (120 ECTS), gain at least an accumulative grade point average of 2.0 out of 4.00 and need to successfully complete their practical training.
