General Description
Department of Mathematics and Science Education Science Education Master´s Program; It is a graduate program opened in the 2012-2013 academic year, under the Institute of Educational Sciences, in order to renew and improve its teaching according to universal standards and the needs of the age. Our program aims to provide students who want to develop themselves in the teaching profession or become researchers in the academic field with a scientific understanding, professional knowledge, skills and competencies with its distinguished faculty staff.
Students who meet the conditions specified in the Qualification Requirements and Rules section are awarded a Master´s degree in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education Science Education.

Specific Admission Requirements
1-To have a bachelor´s degree,
2-To have the score stated in the advertisement from the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES),
3- Those who meet the foreign language proficiency requirement specified in the advertisement can apply to the Science Education Master´s program.
Candidates applying to the program are ranked according to the weighted total scores of ALES (50%) + undergraduate success average (20%) + written / interview (30%) scores, and students are admitted to the program according to the quota, starting from the candidate with the highest score.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Taking at least 28 credits (equivalent to 120 ECTS) from the courses available in the graduate programs of the program or other related departments and successfully completing all of them, achieving a weighted grade point average of at least 70 out of 100 and successfully preparing a thesis in a field related to the subject, defenders are awarded a master´s degree in Science Education. The master´s program with thesis consists of at least eight compulsory and elective courses and a seminar course, the field of specialization course to be taken each semester and a thesis study, provided that it is not less than 120 ECTS credits. Seminar course, field of specialization course and thesis work are evaluated as pass or fail. Related courses and studies are not included in the average. In addition, additional publication or scientific / artistic activity may be required by the decision of the Senate.

The purpose of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education Science Education Department; To raise experts who have the knowledge, skills, attitudes and experience to conduct education, training and high-level research in the field of Science and Technology, who can think critically, have high self-confidence and have the competencies to follow the innovations in their field on a national and international scale.
Goals
1. To become a well-equipped branch of science that provides graduate education in the field of Science Education, where research is carried out, and that ensures and improves physical and academic continuity.
2. To create a research environment that produces solutions to the education and training problems in the field of science education by using quantitative and qualitative scientific research methods effectively, designs, develops and implements programs.
3. To become a department that produces permanent solutions and develops programs with new approaches for current problems or unforeseen complex situations during the applications of science education.
4. To train well-trained and equipped experts, science teachers and academicians at national and international level.

The graduates of the program can be employed as researchers, expert teachers or consultants in public or private institutions and foundations.

Access to Further Studies
Those who have successfully completed the Master´s Program can continue their education in the Mathematics and Science Education Doctorate Programs in the Educational Sciences Institutes of other universities or in the doctoral programs provided that the close programs meet the prescribed conditions.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practices in order to register for the courses at the beginning of the term and to enter the final exam.

Graduation Requirements
a) The duration of the master´s program with thesis is a maximum of four semesters for each semester, regardless of whether the student is registered or not, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program he / she enrolled in, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, and the program is completed in six semesters at most. The student has to spend at least one semester at the thesis stage. b) Those who cannot successfully complete the credit courses and seminar courses in the curriculum at the end of four semesters or fail to fulfill the conditions / criteria stipulated by the University within this period; Students who fail in their thesis work or fail to defend their thesis are dismissed from the institute within the maximum periods. c) A student in a master´s program writes his results in accordance with the thesis writing rules accepted by the institute board of directors and defends his thesis orally before the jury. Before the defense of the master´s thesis; For theses for which corrections are given, after the correction process, the student completes the thesis and presents it to his advisor. The advisor submits the thesis to the institute together with the opinion that the thesis is defensible. The institute takes the plagiarism software report for the thesis in question and sends it to the advisor and the jury members. If a real plagiarism is detected in the data in the report, the thesis is sent to the institute board of directors to be decided with its justification. d) A student enrolled in a master´s program with thesis defends his thesis orally in front of the jury. d) The student must be successful in his thesis defense.

Education and training activities in Science Education Subdivision are carried out in technically equipped classrooms and laboratories. There are 2 Science Laboratories in our department. In these laboratories, microscope, stereo microscope, oven, dryer, centrifuge, desiccator, oven, various animal and human models and implants, plant models, animal and plant collections, chemical and glass materials, refrigerators, experiment sets and other instruments on physics. supplies are available. A large number of computers and printers, smart boards, etc., which have been made available to the faculty members of the Department of Science Teaching and their assistants. It is used for educational and academic activities.
In the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, there are classrooms, laboratories and also rooms with internet and computers open to the use of graduate students. These rooms are kept ready for students´ use outside of class hours.
Our university´s central library is rich in periodicals and online databases. Bursa Uludağ University Central Library and Education Faculty Library are actively used by our students.
