General Description

Brief History
The Logistics Program opened in the 2012-2013 academic year and has been providing education for over 13 years. Since its inception, the program has been one of the top three logistics programs preferred by students in Turkey each year during the admissions process. In this program, students take program-specific courses such as logistics management, warehousing techniques, and supply chain management, in addition to core courses. Furthermore, advisory committees meet with industry representatives each year to develop new elective courses, such as e-commerce and information technologies in logistics, based on their expectations. Students are also offered field trips to businesses located in industrial zones and seminars where they can meet with industry representatives. Additionally, students are required to complete a one-month internship during the summer break to develop their professional knowledge and skills, and two days of workplace training per week are required throughout their second year.

Qualification Awarded
Logistic Short Cycle degree is given by fulfilling the 121 ECTS credits and providing program proficiency.

Specific Admission Requirements
The applicants have to be graduated from a high school or an equivalent school. The admission and registration essentials are determined by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in accordance with the related legislations of The Council of Higher Education of Turkey.

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to have a Short Cycle degree, students must fulfill all the compulsory and elective courses (total 120 ECTS) which are in the program curriculum and have a minimum 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average out of 4.00.

Profile of The Programme
The Logistics Program´s Mission: The Logistics Program aims to cultivate well-equipped, solution-oriented, and innovative individuals needed in the logistics sector. By providing students with fundamental knowledge and skills in logistics and supply chains, we aim to equip them with analytical thinking, problem-solving, and the effective use of digital technologies.
The Logistics Program´s Vision: To be a leading program offering innovative, sustainable, and globally recognized education in the field of logistics. By developing graduates as solution-oriented professionals aligned with the digital transformation sought in the sector, we aim to become a nationally and internationally respected educational institution that drives developments in the logistics field through education, research, and industry collaborations.
The educational objectives of the Logistics Program are to equip students with fundamental, up-to-date, and applied knowledge related to their profession, to be able to follow relevant legislation, and to integrate it with finance, marketing, and other disciplines.The program aims to cultivate individuals who are knowledgeable about all processes and documents related to logistics and supply chains, able to interpret and evaluate sector developments, and integrate these with information technologies; committed to ethical values ??related to logistics, well-versed in sustainable processes, and aware of occupational health and safety, environmental, and quality processes; possess social, scientific, and cultural values; and able to take responsibility as a team member to solve problems encountered in their field; able to effectively present their thoughts and skills in Turkish through written and oral communication; able to follow information in their field using a foreign language and communicate with colleagues; and possess an awareness of career management and lifelong learning.
The logistics program aims to train individuals who can work as intermediate staff, assistant managers, or mid-level managers in the purchasing, production, logistics, and foreign trade departments of private and public enterprises, as well as in relevant departments within port operations. They are capable of effectively using communication technologies, generating creative ideas, and achieving success in social interactions.
The logistics program curriculum was designed to meet the needs of the private sector. Key topics of importance in the private sector when it comes to logistics include economics, transportation regulations, foreign trade, supply chain management, and international marketing. Furthermore, foreign language proficiency is among the required qualifications to meet the private sector´s personnel needs.
Based on this, in addition to core courses, transportation legislation and transportation economics were added to the curriculum in the second semester to meet the needs of the private sector. Additionally, elective courses such as Foreign Trade Logistics, Sectoral Logistics Applications, Terminal Planning, and Container Systems were added.
In the second year, Vocational Foreign Language is a mandatory course throughout the year. Additionally, Foreign Trade Operations, Warehousing Techniques, Supply Chain Management, Information and Communication Technologies, and Legal Responsibilities and Insurance in Logistics are required courses. Elective courses include a year-long Workplace Training course to prepare students for the private sector, or semester-long elective courses such as Service Marketing, Free Zones, Hazardous Goods Transportation, International Maritime Conventions, Rail Transportation, Retail Logistics, E-Commerce, Road Transportation and Fleet Management, Port Management and Operations, Passenger Transportation, Air Transportation, and Project Logistics and Transportation.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
The graduates can find so many career opportunities. They can work in related departments of logistic and cargo firms, purchasing, production, logistics and foreign trade departments of industrial firms, related departments of ports as middle staff, assistant manager or middle manager. Also they can find jobs in ministry of economics or costom and trade ministry. The graduate students which want to continue their education can continue their licence education by vertical passing tests.

Access to Further Studies
The Associate degree graduates may attend to an undergraduate program, if they have a valid grade in Vertical Transfer Examination. The undergraduate programs are; Logistic Management Transportation and Logistic International Logistic International Logistic and Transportation International Trade and Logistic Management Civil Aviation Management

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student has to register to the courses at the beginning of the term and have to take minimum 70% percent attendance for the courses and 80% attendance for the practices in order to enter to the final examination. Minimum one mid-term examination and a final examination is required for each course. The course grade’s 40% percent is consist by the mid-term grade (mid-term grade may be evaluated by various measurable tools such as grades taken from semester work, lab-examination, quiz) and 60% percent is consists by final examination. All of the examination are evaluated over 100 points. At least 50 points have to be taken from the final examination. A student who has taken AA, BA, BB, CB and CC grades from course is accepted successful. DC and DD grades are conditional successful grades. To be successful for the course which DC and DD grades are taken is, Cumulative Grade Point Average must be at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the program, all of the compulsory and elective courses (total 121 ECTS) have to be fulfilled, minimum 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average out of 4.00, must be provided and compulsory internship have to be completed.

Facilities
Totally three lecturers serves In Uludag University, Logistic Program . We have 35 lecturers in total.
Courses are held in conference halls, library, laboratories and classrooms with technological hardware (projector, smart board, internet connection).
Various seminars are organized where experts and managers of the business life share their knowledge and experiences. Also technical trips are held to the enterprises for meeting and learning the business pratices.
