19 Objective of the Course: Gain the ability to define Late Antique and Byzantine architectural decoration, to analyse the origin, style, material and technique, to date, to have and give information about the interaction of other civilisation’s ornamentation, to researche and document.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To know nd to be able to tell the outline of Late Antique and Byzantine history, geography, the milieu nd influences of art and architecture 2 To explain the origins of Late Antique architectural decoration ;
2 To explain the origins of Late Antique architectural decoration ;
3 Recognising ornamental elements used in Late Antique and Byzantine architecture;
4 Learning the materials and techniques ;
5 To explain the origins of the motifs,,differenciations and their causes, according the region and time. ;
6 To do comparative analyses of architectural decoration elements, to use them as dating criteria;
7 To determine the effects on contemporary and next civilizations decoration;
8 To know and apply the documentation techniques;
9 To learn about the basic literature and research methods on the content of the course ;
