19 Objective of the Course: Be able to understand of Modern Greek Language grammar and syntax structure starting at a basic level and to gain skills basic communication, reading and writing.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To gain knowledge of the historical development Modern Greek.;
2 Be able to understand the structure of sentence of the Modern Greek.;
3 Understand the structure of Modern Greek at the level of verb conjugation.;
4 Gain ability to recognize of the Modern Greek adjective, adverb, and gerunds.;
5 To understand the declension of Modern Greek nouns.;
6 Be able to use effectively printed and digital dictionaries of Greek Language. ;
7 Gain the ability of correct reading and writing using the Modern Greek accent system.;
8 Comprehend the basic skills of communication by simple sentences.;
22 Course Content:
Week Theoretical Practical
1 The historical development of Greek Language. Learning Greek alphabets. The differences between Ancient Greek and Modern Greek alphabet.. Modern Greek pronunciation.
2 Short vowels, long vowels and diphtongs. Double consonants. Spelling system and accent. Rules of spelling, punctuation and abbreviation marks.
3 The stems of words, the structure and formation of prefix and suffix. Singular and plural endings.
4 Definite and indefinite articles. Declensions of articles. Conjunctions
5 Nominative, possesive, accusative and imperative case Auxiliary verbs: (??µ??/???)
