19 Objective of the Course: The purpose of this course is to make students familiar with the language of poetry formed by the classical literature; to show the students the rhetorical ats over the classical literary texts.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To explain the basic forms and concepts of classical literature;
2 To recognize the subject and the limits of Rhetoric;
3 To see the relationship between syntax and semantics of poetic statement;
4 To identify the ways to expressing of meaning;
5 To learn the rhetorical arts;
6 To recognize the rhetorical arts in the literary texts;
7 To compare the arts based on the metaphor and the similarity;
8 To recognize the aspects which adds harmonical richness to poetry;
9 To know the meters, the forms and the genres of poems;
10 To have an idea about the repertoire of poetry inTurkish Islamic literature;

12 The most widely used prosody (meter) of Turkish Literature
13 Hece prosody (syllabic meter) and species
