19 Objective of the Course: The main aim of this course is to provide an idea about the economic welfare and its relationship with national income via learning tools microeconomics.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 Students will be able to define welfare and to learn fundamentals concepts of welfare economics;
2 Students will be able to distinguish between economic welfare and non economic welfare;
3 Students will be able to learn why and when public policies are required to enhance the efficiency of an economy;
4 Students will be able to learn the difficulties in formulating a collective decision on a rational basis ;
5 Students will be able to understand the Pareto principle;
6 Students will be able to learn to causes of market failure;
7 Students will be able to learn the basic methods for evaluating economic policies which impact on income distribution;
8 Students will be able to learn to causes of changes in the distribution of national income and economic welfare;

10 Measuring Issues of social welfare

13 Role of value judgment in welfare economics: Positive approach versus normative approach
