19 Objective of the Course: This course’s objective is to help students explore approaches in art making processes; discovering alternative and creative approaches, applications and practices within available material, techniques, and media.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development This course contributes professional development through exploring studio practices and experiences to be used art teaching.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To learn essential function of experimentation in art making process.;
2 To understand practices and applications within related techniques.;
3 To understand applications and practices within various media.;
4 To understand applications and practices within various materials.;
5 To understand and recognize essentials of innovation, innovative and creative idea.;
6 To understand and realize importance of experimentation in creative process.;
7 To learn how to apply experimental methods and approaches in art education settings.;
8 To investigate particular methods of applications specific to media and applicable in studio art instruction.;

1 Course Introduction. Materials and resources explained. Informing about the course content, applications and practices to be studied during the term.
2 Materials and media in art making. Traditional and contemporary approaches. Assignment #1: Color, pigment and paint development in the history. Due: Midterm week.
3 Techniques in art making. Traditional and non-traditional techniques. Readings to be determined
4 Materials, techniques and media in painting within traditional and non-traditional approaches. Readings to be determined
5 History of exploration and innovation in painting and art. Readings to be determined
6 2D media vs. 3D media; use of material and techniques. Readings to be determined
7 Color, pigment and paint in Far-East and Asia. Assignment #2: Contemporary media, technique and approaches in painting. Due: Finals’ week.
