Objective of the Course:
To acquire knowledge about the formation and progression of contemporary polyphonic Turkish music and recognize the composers and their in Republic period of Turkey.

Contribution of the Course to Professional Development
The most important contribution of this course to the student is to understand the development of contemporary Turkish music literature in the historical process and to create an artistic interpretation by using this information during artistic performance.

Learning Outcomes:

to be able to compare the style properties in the pieces of Turkish five;

to be able to explain the approaches of Turkish composers in their pieces following the first generation.;

to be able to analyse samples from works of second generation composers;

to be able to analyse samples from works of last generation composers;

to be able to comprehend the technical and aesthetic value of contemporary Turkish music.;

to be able to explain the effects of traditional music on the selected works.;
