19 Objective of the Course: To comprehend the developments of symphony and concerto style in and after 19th centruy by analysing sample pieces.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development To gain artistic maturity by experiencing the historical content, technical and musical analyses of different eras and styles in a performance level
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To be able to define the romantic point of view in the 19th century concertos ;
2 To be able to explain Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich’s symphonic features;
3 To be able to explain the effects of “ new world” occured at the end of 19th centruy;
4 To be able to examplify the effects of impressionism on symphony and concerto ;
5 To be able to explain the place of Mahler in the symphony repertair;
6 To be able to recognize the reflections of different view points in the 20th centruy music to symphonic music;
7 To be able to explain the features of Turkish composers symphony and concertos;
