19 Objective of the Course: To show the effects of religion on content and esthetical form of Diwan poetry considering religious and literary genres.
20 Contribution of the Course to Professional Development Shows the importance of interdisciplinary interaction.
21 Learning Outcomes:
1 To comprehend the relation between religion and art.;
2 To comprehend the relation between religion and literature.;
3 To evaluate the change in Turkish literature after the conversion to Islam. ;
4 To get knowledge about new literary forms in the post-Islamic Turkish literature.;
5 To classify Diwan literature according to developmental stages.;
6 To recognize pioneering poets in Diwan literature.;
7 To have knowledge about religious and literary genres and works.;
8 To realize the motives that led to a decrease in the effects of Diwan poetry. ;
9 To evaluate the religious content in literary works. ;
10 To analyze the place of Diwan poetry in Turkish Islamic thought.;

3 Religious and literary genres: an outlook
4 Literary genres focusing on God: Tawhid, Munaacat, al-Asmâ al-Husna
5 Literary genres focusing on the Prophet: Na’t
6 Literary genres focusing on the Prophet: Mawlid
7 Literary genres focusing on the Prophet: Shamail, Hilya
8 Literary genres focusing on the Prophet: Gazavat-nama, Hijrah-name
9 Literary genres focusing on the Prophet: Forty Hadiths, Mirajiya, al-Asmâ al-Nabawiyya
10 Literary genres related to the Qur’an: Translations in verse of the Qur’an, Fâl al-Qur’an, Interlinear translations of the Qur’an, Forty Verses, Parables.
11 Literary genres written for blessed times: Ramadaniyya, Ragâibiyya, Iydiyya
12 Akaidnama in verse, Shurut al-Salah and İlmihal, Fatawa in verse, Manasik al-Hajj
