19 Objective of the Course: Sub-skills of listening such as note-taking, predicting, extracting specific and detailed information, guessing meaning from context, and getting the gist; phonetics; aural authentic listening materials such as interviews, movies, songs, lectures, TV shows and news broadcasts of different accents of English.

21 Learning Outcomes:
1 -Becoming aware of the aim of the course, -Realizing its content, - Understanding the techniques that the lecturer uses for analyzing the sounds, - Becoming aware of what preparatory requirements are available during the term, - Understanding lecturers’ expectations from each individual participants, - Recognizing possible strategies about being evaluated, - Feeling the responsibility of listening to CDs including 100 simple dialogues on everyday life prepared by BBC Learning English Unit, - Familiarization of reference On-line sites, - Knowing available Research-based Utube pages for further listening and study, - Knowing the film bank of lecturer’s personal film data for further listening, - Becoming aware of resources offered by Longman/Oxford/Heinle/etc. Readers with CDs for further listening, - Practicing how to record my voice via computer and how to save my records into CDs or Mp3 or mobiles, etc.. ;
2 -Participants can give the right stress in numbers, -They can shorten the verb ‘be’ in their speeches and conversations in their daily life. ;
3 -They have an idea on how to stress the sentences in English, -They can articulate the weak forms and linking as they are expected, -They can decide and articulate the intonation as in the way it is necessary-up or down, ;
4 -They can articulate the weak forms in present simple questions, -They can pronounce the weak forms of a and the ;
5 -They can pronounce can and can’t in the right tone and stress, -They can pronounce negative forms in the correct intonation -When they request something, they sound polite. ;
6 -They can read comparative and superlative sentences with the correct stress and intonation, -They can contract the short forms -They can read the word with a right word stress, -They can read and pronounce the ‘to’ in a weakened way, -They do not articulate the sound /? / in final syllables, ;

9 -They can practice all necessary skills of listening and understanding via given passages every week. ;

1 -Greeting the participants, -Introducing the aim of the course, -Sharing its content, -Enlightening participants about the operational procedure of the course, -Explaining the preparatory requirements, -Stating lecturers’ expectations from the participants, -Informing the participants about the possible strategies for evaluating participants’ performance, -Distribution of CDs including 100 simple dialogues on working english prepared by BBC Learning English Unit, -Introducing reference On-line sites, -Introducing Research-based Utube pages for further listening and study, -Introducing film bank of lecturer’s personal film data for further listening, -Introducing Longman Readers with CDs for further listening, -Helping participants learn how to record their own voice via computer and how to save their imitation of characters in the movies, dialogues into CDs or Mp3 or mobiles, etc..……
