General Description
Students will be admitted to the Child Development Program in the 2020-2021 academic year at Büyükorhan Vocational School. General high school graduates who have entered the TYT by ÖSYM and obtained sufficient TYT score can be placed in the Child Development program from areas other than those designated for transition without an examination or from areas determined for transition without examination in Vocational and Technical Secondary Education Institutions, according to their preferences.
In order for the candidates to graduate, they must successfully complete the courses available in the Program (total 120 ECTS) and have a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded an associate degree in the field of "Child Development".
Students who graduate from the program can continue their education and training in undergraduate programs with the DGS made by ÖSYM.
This department is subjected to fifth level degree system which is 120 ECTS credits in the field of Child Development in Higher Education. When the programme completed successfully and provided programme adequacies associate degree would be acquired in the field of Child Development.

Specific Admission Requirements
Being graduated from Child Development Departments of vocational high schools and in accordance with related legislation of YÖK(High Education Board) it is determined by ÖSYM(Student Selection and Placement Center).

Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to complete the program successfully students have to pass all existing lessons in the programme(120 AKTS equivalent), reach at least 2.0 C.G.P.A out of 4.00 and complete thesis successfully.

Profile of The Programme
The most significant aim of Child Development Programme is to provide education service oriented to acquire life skills with modern teaching methods and proper to information age and business life with its lifelong education provision. In this direction, our students are expected to being an individual who are utilizing their qualifications, researching, willing to contribute to development of their profession and their nation, following all the latest developments related to their fields and continuously reforming themselves, having unique opinions and analytic persons.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of child development associate degree program can work as master instructors in anatolian girls´ vocational and girls vocational high schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and in nursery classes in primary schools, as well as working as master instructors; She can work as an assistant teacher in preschool education institutions such as kindergartens, kindergartens and children´s clubs affiliated to public and private institutions. They can also work in children´s clinics, special education and rehabilitation centers, children´s literature, toy manufacturers, and children´s playgrounds of tourism and sports centers.

Access to Further Studies

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student must attend at least 70% of the lessons and at least 80% of the practices in order to register for the courses at the beginning of the term and to enter the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from the measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exam, quiz etc. as midterm grade can also be taken into consideration) to the success grade is 50% and the contribution of the final exam is 50%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. There is a requirement to get at least 30 points from the final exam. Students who get AA, BA, BB, CB and CC letter grades from a course are considered successful from that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. In order for a student to be successful in a course with DC or DD grades, his / her general grade point average must be at least 2.0.

Graduation Requirements
In order to acquire Two year Degree in the field of Child Development, students are supposed to complete all required must and elective courses(totally 120 AKTS equivalent) in the programme successfully and their C.G.P.A is supposed to be at least 2.0 out of 4.00

There are three academics in the department of Child Development in Büyükorhan Vocational School of Higher Education.There are equipped classrooms for the related theoratical education and related lessons also drama and material preparation workshops for practices. Plus the fact that, we are trying to provide application of theoratical knowledge in kindergardens which are connected to the Ministery of National Education.
