Specific arrangements for the recognition of prior learning
The provisions in “Regulation on Transfer among Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, and Subspecialty and the Principals of Credit Transfer among Institutions in Higher Education Institutions” are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students must be successful at least 240 ECTS in order to graduate.Students are required to successfully complete the courses with 75 points out of 100, successfully pass the qualifying exam and successfully defend their thesis in front of an elected jury. In order for the student to graduate, it is also required to fulfill the publication or scientific activity requirement determined by the decision of the Senate.

Profile of The Programme
The aim of the Social Studies Education Branch Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme is to raise experts who have the knowledge, skills, attitudes and experience to conduct education, training and high-level research in the field of social studies, who can think critically and have the competencies to follow the innovations in their field on a national and international scale.

2. Graduates gain the ability of doing a research on specialist level with a holistic approach about social studies education.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates can work as a teacher / researcher public or private institutions (by meeting the conditions of the relevant institutions). They can also be employed as academic staff (by meeting the relevant conditions specified by the universities) related departments of universities.

Access to Further Studies
PhD students after completed their PhD Program may apply to post doctorate programmes.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Each student is required to attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practices in order to register for the courses at the beginning of the term. Students who do not meet this requirement are not taken to the exam and the student is given the grade "Absentee" (D). There are two types of compulsory exams: final exam and make-up exam for students who fail the final exam. However, the relevant course faculty member / lecturer, can take a midterm exam, make a quiz, project or homework work. The effect rate of the final exam must be at least 60%. In order for a student to be successful in a course, he / she must get at least 75 (CB) in the doctorate as a success grade from that course

Graduation Requirements
Having succeeded in compulsory and elective courses, seminar course, proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialization courses , thesis committees (TİK) and thesis work, getting a letter grade of at least CB (75) or above from all the courses taken, and the thesis proposal prepared for the subject and the PhD thesis selected he must defend successfully before a jury.

The Program has technically well-equipped learning environments / classrooms. The University Library is quite rich in periodicals and online data base sources. Our students effectively use the Bursa Uludag University Library.
